Public Drafts of Meeting Items – The FCC is publicly releasing the draft text of each item expected to be considered at this Open Commission Meeting with the exception of items involving specific, enforcement-related matters including restricted proceedings and hearing designation orders.   • Promoting the Integrity and Security of Telecommunications Certification Bodies, Measurement Facilities, and the Equipment Authorization Program 
    The Commission considered a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to strengthen requirements and oversight relating to telecommunications certification bodies and measurement facilities to help ensure the integrity of these entities for purposes of our equipment authorization program, to better protect national security, and to advance the Commission’s comprehensive strategy to build a more secure and resilient communications supply chain. (ET Docket No. 24-136)
  • Dismissing AFR Seeking Waiver of FM Translator*
    The Commission adopted a Memorandum Opinion and Order dismissing an Application for Review, filed by Americom Limited Partnership, of a Media Bureau decision denying a request for waiver of the translator siting rule.
  • Proposed Fine for AI Deepfake Spoofed Robocalls
    The Commission adopted a Notice of Apparently Liability for Forfeiture which proposes a $6 million fine against Steve Kramer for apparently illegal robocalls made using deepfake, AI-generated voice cloning technology and caller ID spoofing to spread election misinformation to potential New Hampshire voters prior to the January primary.
  • Proposed Fine for Caller ID Authentication Violations
    The Commission adopted a Notice of Apparently Liability for Forfeiture which proposes a first-of-its-kind, $2 million fine against Lingo Telecom for transmitting robocalls, incorrectly labeling them with the highest level of caller ID attestation and making it less likely that other providers could detect the calls as potentially spoofed.    
  • Proposed Fine Against Telco Experts* 
    The Commission adopted a Notice of Apparently Liability for Forfeiture which proposed a $400,000 fine against Telco Experts, LLC for its failure to cooperate with Telecommunications Reporting Worksheets documentation requirements and its failure to file accurate Worksheets.
  • Proposed Fines Against TouchTone Communications* 
    The Commission adopted a Notice of Apparently Liability for Forfeiture which proposed a $3.1 million fine against TouchTone Communications, Inc. for failing to file its Telecommunications Worksheet on time, to pay USF contributions on time and in full, and to pay TRS Fund contributions on time and in full.
