Barcelona’s Sergino Dest sends out message after undergoing surgery on ACL tear

Barcelona loanee Sergino Dest has confirmed he’s undergone surgery on an ACL tear after seeing his season ended by the serious injury.

The USMNT posted a video on Instagram showing him being wheeled out of a building along with a caption that reads “Surgery went well!! Thank GOD. Now it’s time to look forward.”

Dest is now set for a lengthy rehabilitation process and will miss a significant chunk of next season as well as this summer’s Copa America.

The injury has ended a title-winning season with PSV for Dest and thrown his future into doubt.

PSV have confirmed they won’t be taking up his purchase option but claim they do want to try and keep the defender.

The Dutch side are thought to be working on a fresh bid for Dest, although we’ll have to wait and see if they can reach an agreement with the Catalan giants.
