Saints were reportedly interested in Marquez Valdes-Scantling prior to him signing with Buffalo

The New Orleans Saints are still currently looking into the wide receiver market, per report.

Former Chiefs wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling reportedly fielded interest from the team before coming to an agreement with the Buffalo Bills. Both the Saints and Valdes-Scantling had interest in uniting in 2022 before the Kansas City Chiefs added a third year to up the Saints two-year offer.

With the market paper thin at this time of the year, there aren’t many additions the team can make that could move the needle for them. However, one name that many will point to as being an option is former Raider’s receiver Hunter Renfrow. Not only does Renfrow have familiarity with quarterback Derek Carr but adding him makes you feel a lot better about the depth that the team would have at the position. It is clear that Renfrow’s best days are behind him, but we’ve seen what he is capable of as a sure-handed pass catcher over the middle of the field.

It will be interesting to see if the team decides to add at the position before the start of the season.
