Asuka says goodbye for now

Asuka was originally scheduled to take part in WWE’s ongoing Queen of the Ring tournament, but she was pulled from the competition due to an injury. The nature of her injury wasn’t clear, but she has not wrestled a match since losing the WWE women’s tag team titles on May 4 at WWE’s Backlash premium live event in Lyon, France.

In a vlog posted to her YouTube channel last night Asuka documents some of her travel experiences on WWE’s recent European tour, which included stops at Milan, Bologna, Bratislava, and Lyon:

The title of Asuka’s video is “See You Again,” and that’s because she also comments on her health, noting that she will be taking a break from WWE due to a knee injury that has been bothering her for a while. She thanks her Damage CTRL tag team partners Kairi Sane and Dakota Kai for helping her get through the tour when she wasn’t moving well.

For what it’s worth, a couple of months ago it was reported that Asuka suffered a knee injury on the March 15 episode of SmackDown. She was pulled from house shows that weekend and didn’t wrestle for the rest of March, but she did work eight tag team matches from the start of April through Backlash on May 4, including WrestleMania 40.
