WWE NXT RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR MAY 7

So you feel like you ain’t nobody? Always needed to be somebody? Put your feet on the ground, put your hand on your heart, lift your head to the stars and the world’s for your taking, but me? I’m just here to liveblog this pro wrestling show for you, folks.

The show opens with a video package covering Wes Lee’s rise and injury and return.

We see Wes walking through a gauntlet of his adoring peers on his way to the ring.

Josh Briggs vs. Wes Lee

Feeling out, off the ropes, sunset flip blocked, Briggs with a stomp, Lee rolls away! Sending Josh to the floor, caught off the apron, float over and he puts Briggs into the post and follows it with a tijeras! Back inside, Josh in control and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Briggs still in control, hip toss over the ropes, big side slam, piefacing Lee in the corner, he gets a boot up, enzuigiri staggers Josh, Wes exploits the opening...

Wes Lee wins by pinfall.

Post-match, Ivar (who had been at ringside) and Briggs and Lee get into it and end up all laid out while Oba Femi laughs and laughs.

Roxanne Perez and Chelsea Green are both shown arriving at the arena earlier today.

A recap of last week’s NXT Underground match between Natalya and Lola Vice follows.

Shayna Baszler makes her entrance and we go to break.

Back from commercial, we get some fooatge from earlier today of the tag division hanging out.

Tyson Dupont and Tyriek Igwe talk to the champs about eventually getting a shot and No Quarter Catch Crew roll up to say they’re getting ahead of themselves and if they get in the ring with them they’ll experience only pain.

The Good Brothers roll up to the scene and get cold-shouldered by everybody and too sweet about it.

Karmen Petrovic vs. Shayna Baszler

Feeling out, Baszler with a waistlock takedown and Petrovic returns a roundhouse kick that sends her to the floor! Karmen goes out after her, Shayna cuts her off, top wristlock, wrenching her arm through the ring frame, kick to the bicep!

Back inside, hammerlock into the turnbuckles, Petrovic gets a schoolboy for two but Baszler goes right back at her and puts her into a top wristlock! Elbows to fight out, Shayna clubs her down, stomp the arm! Karmen up top, diving, Baszler catches her...

Shayna Baszler wins by submission with the Kirifuda Clutch.

Kelani Jordan is in the locker room complaining about Fallon Henley when Henley rolls up. She says she’s been looking out for her friends for too long and now it’s Fallon first. Jordan asks what she’s on about, Henley tells her she should know, tensions are high and we go to break.

Back from commercial, we get a video package breaking down the NXT Women’s North American Championship combine.

No Quarter Catch Crew (Charlie Dempsey & Myles Borne) vs. Tyriek Igwe & Tyson Dupont

We’re informed that the scheduled referee for this match is... unavailable... and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo will be your special guest referee.

Grapplers with an early advantage but Dupont tags Igwe in, speed and power taking Dempsey off-balance, tag to Borne, sidestep a charge, dropkick on the button, quick tags with the NQCC in control but Stacks pulls Myles aside and Tyson is given a primo opportunity to recover into a nearfall.

Octopus hold applied, Dupont counters with a back body drop and tags Tyriek in! In hot, kicking away, Charlie with a bridging German suplex for about an eight count but Lorenzo is thorough in checking the shoulders and slow with his count! Dempsey running hot, he shoves Stacks, Channing punches him...

Tyriek Igwe & Tyson Dupont win by pinfall.

Arianna Grace is excited to see Chelsea Green backstage while Gigi Dolin sits awkwardly between them. Dolin snaps when they leave blowing kisses at each other and says she’s done, which is weird because she hasn’t actually had to submit to Arianna’s instruction in any meaningful way.

“Michin” Mia Yim makes her entrance and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Roxanne Perez is interviewed.

She says this isn’t about Ava Raine or about Chelsea Green, it’s about her being the face of the brand and the main event and the Prodigy.

Arianna Grace vs. “Michin” Mia Yim

Grace jawing and pointing at her, Yim wrenches her finger, stomps her foot, charging forearm in the corner and a round kick right to the ribs. Off the ropes, Penalty Kick, Arianna slings her into the ropes, charging elbow, shoulder blocks, snap suplex, elbow drop, cover for two.

Flying armbar, Michin keeps her hands clasped, posts to her knees for a cover, then for the powerbomb! Big boot in the corner, charging in, back body drop to the apron, shoulder block, slingshot countered, victory roll with hands on the ropes, sunset flip completed, cover for two!

Arianna cries at the referee, German suplex connects...

“Michin” Mia Yim wins by pinfall with Sole Food.

We see Trick Williams and Meta-Four walking separately backstage to send us to break.

Back from commercial we get the hype reel for WrestleMania in Las Vegas next year.

Thea Hail and Ridge Holland are chatting backstage.

Holland tries to talk to her seriously about bleeding the anger off constructively but she pops off and Ridge tells her he hopes his daughter turns out like her.

Chase U roll up and then Lexis King, who complains about this being like some terrible Lifetime movie. Ridge steps to him, but Duke Hudson says he has this and gets some jibes in, to which King says he just pissed him off and leaves.

Meta-Four are in the ring for Supernove Sessions and Noam Dar introduces Trick Williams after Lash Legend insists.

Trick makes his entrance and Noam says it must be nice to be Trick Williams, and we get a video package of Trick making a visit to WWE Headquarters. After, Legend is ready to reveal the contents of the envelope, which is a glossy 8x10 showing that Dar’s foot was under the ropes when Williams pinned him before he won the title.

So of course, Dar thinks Trick’s title reign is fraudulent as a result. Williams is unmoved and says if he wanted a title match all he had to do was ask and he’ll smack the bun off his head. Noam tries his mind games, Trick says he’s not here to be on Maury and anyway he’s not the daddy.

When Meta-Four are confused he asks Lash if she wants to tell them or if he should. She freaks out, he says there’s nothing to be scared of and she should tell the people she calls him Trick Willy Wonka. (What?) She says it’s not the time or place and Dar clobbers him with a forearm!

Another video summing up the NXT Women’s North American Championship qualifying combine follows.

Kelani Jordan makes her entrance and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Natalya and Karmen Petrovic are walking backstage.

Petrovic apologizes for her performance but Neidhart gives her a pep talk that I can’t understand a word of because the broadcast continues to break up. Some guy rolls up to tell her not to worry about the loss ‘cause she’s still a smokeshow and she kicks his head off.

Fallon Henley vs. Kelani Jordan

Waistlock, go-behind, Jordan reverses to an arm drag, Henley gets her into the corner and puts boots to her! Off the ropes, leapfrog, back suplex, Kelani lands on her feet, headlock takeover into a grounded headlock, Fallon cuts her off and catapults her into the ropes to send us to break.

Back from commercial, Henley in control, dropping Jordan with a lariat, cover for two. Big arm drag from Fallon, Cobra Clutch applied, Kelani fights out, kick, Overdrive connects, whip reversed, handspring and Henley cuts her off with a kick! Snap suplex, float over, Jordan shrugs her off, waistlock in the corner, Fallon hanging on and tearing the turnbuckle off!

Picking Kelani up, a front kick cuts her off, whip to the corner, monkey flip connects! Henley in the corner, Gallon Throw... JORDAN INTO THE STEEL! Fallon off the ropes...

Fallon Henley wins by pinfall with a running knee.

No Quarter Catch Crew cut a promo backstage.

Charlie Dempsey says if Tony D’Angelo wants a Heritage Cup match he’ll get it, under Catch Clause rules next week.

We go back to the footage of the NXT Women’s North American Championship combine footage.

Lexis King makes his entrance and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Ava Raine is interviewed backstage to announce the women who are advancing out of the combine.

Sol Ruca, Thea Hail, Jaida Parker, Brinley Reece, “Michin” Mia Yim, Fallon Henley, Lash Legend, Ivy Nile, Izzi Dame, Kelani Jordan, Tatum Paxley, and Wren Sinclair will be the twelve women competing in qualifying matches for the NXT Women’s North American Championship ladder match at Battleground.

Duke Hudson vs. Lexis King

Hudson on the offensive, big side slam, big chop in the corner, vertical suplex follows. King on the comeback with heavy hands, sunset flip from Duke, strikes from kneeling, off the ropes with a big knee and a chop block! Pressing the attack...

Lexis King wins by pinfall with Coronation.

Meta-Four (sans Lash Legend) are interviewed on their way out of the building but they don’t want to talk.

Je’Von Evans rolls up on them and Dar threatens him on his way out.

Chelsea Green runs into Robert Stone on her way through the arena and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Jazmyn Nyx cuts a promo on Thea Hail breaking Jacy Jayne’s nose and says she should be suspended or fired for it.

Chase U are mad backstage and Ridge Holland rolls up to apologize for costing them the match and getting involved in their business and Duke says if he buys them dinner tonight they’re even. But Riley Osborne isn’t buying it, and Holland says he’ll do what he has to in order to earn their trust and respect.

Commentary hypes up next week’s show.

Chelsea Green vs. Roxanne Perez (c) (NXT Women’s Championship)

Collar and elbow, Perez with a wristlock, Green rolls through, Roxanne keeps the hold on. Back roll, drop toehold, La Casita, cover for two! Back to the lockup, struggling around the ring, Chelsea with a headpat and the champion hauls off on her with a slap! Off the ropes, duck a boot, sliding drop toehold into a slap and Green is holding court as we go to break!

Back from commercial, side Russian legsweep from Perez, off the ropes, corkscrew uppercut, cover... NOPE! Trading elbows, Roxanne off the ropes, Green with a boot, big Rough Ryder and both women are down! Perez to her feet first but Chelsea takes her out with lariats, back elbows in the corner, sliding basement reverse STO... SO CLOSE!

Roxanne with a right hand, a basement dropkick, Green cuts her off from the apron, goes up top, enzuigiri cuts her off, Perez with an avalanche Frankensteiner... STILL NO! Champion charging uppercuts, flapjacked into the turnbuckles, Chelsea follows it up wtih a German suplex!

Green goes up top, missile dropkick on the button! Pop Rox blocked, trading pins, no deal! Off the ropes...

Roxanne Perez wins by pinfall with Pop Rox, retaining the NXT Women’s Championship.

We see the D’Angelo Family beating Damon Kemp up in the back of a car and driving off after Tony D’Angelo asks where their Catch Clause is now.

Charlie Dempsey walks out of the building seemingly unaware.

That’s the show, folks.
