I literally was just questioning today about when the Pumpkin Carving Contest for this year would start and lo and behold!
Good to see it back. =) |

Yes! I've been waiting for this confirmation. I guess I'll have to study extra hard for my next exam this upcoming week so that I can use this next weekend to work on it. While I do like the idea of getting to vote, I do worry that many may simply vote for pumpkins with anime they like or not vote for anime they dislike without considering the artistry put forth on it. Hopefully, this concern will be unwarranted.

titan was the absolute first thing that popped into my head. im sure there will be several, so may have to get a little creative.
voting is always a bit of a crap shoot. I've never trusted the wisdom of the masses much and if the prizes are as nice as in prior years the first thought some people will have is how to cheat the system. Time will tell. thanks fro bringing the contest around again this year. |

I was worried about people cheating too, but I'm sure that they will implement something along the lines of "You must be a member with X amount of activity to vote" so that people don't just muster up a bunch of friends because the prizes are super great.
Im so excited, I enter every year even though im not that great |

those are some pretty mad carving skills. but tracing the drawing on the pumpkin...mmm, oh well each has their own strengths. i will have been more impressed if he had free handed the drawings on the pumpkin.

Finally got my entry done, and with a few days to spare. That never happens...maybe I'll make a second pumpkin just for fun.

Tried sculpting the pumpkin this year instead of carving. I actually liked it better this way. I felt a lot freer when it came to making the pumpkin because I had to shape and add detail instead of using light and negative space. After waiting 5 hours to get my car fixed for something simple, I really needed something that was fun instead of feeling time consuming.

Finishing up my entree. Considering I've never carved a Pumpkin in my life before, this should be interesting. Not sure how it's working out, yet, but... the pumpkin part went well. Now, it's all about how I paint it...
It's a shame that we have a bad storm coming in the midst of this rain all day. That'll ruin Halloween this year, for sure, and there's no way I'm putting THIS pumpkin in the rain. I did just come up with the idea last night... [EDIT] I... I... I... I finished it...! ;w; |

Here's a question: I entered my pumpkin in the contest last night. Will there be a way to know if the entry was was successfully submitted? Or should I just wait until current entries post is updated? This is my first time entering the contest so that's why I'm asking.
