Artist Lucy Sparrow has spent the past seven months stocking a full-size corner shop with her handcrafted goods made entirely of felt and wool. With the help of a successful Kickstarter campaign, Tower Hamlets Council and the Arts Council, she has dedicated her days to cutting and sewing 4,000 cuddly items including tins of beans, packets of refreshers, tampons, ready meals and milk cartons.

It opens tomorrow (August 2) a runs for a whole month, inviting customers into the once dilapidated east London store, which is now stocked with Lucy’s handmade groceries and hosting sewing workshops for local community charities.

The coolest part is that you can actually go shopping in-store and buy or reserve your own felt produce. Probably wouldn’t recommend eating it and for goodness sake don’t rely on the results of that pregnancy test.

Go and ‘check out’ The Cornershop, open every day, 10am-7pm, until Sunday August 31, 19 Wellington Row, London E2 7BB.
