Cruise down the Thames at the SS Atlantica boat party
All aboard! Don your starched collars and fur accessories (well, maybe not in this heat) for the SS Atlantica’s voyage down the Thames is this Saturday July 26. Be transported back in time to the days when sea voyages were all the rage, and immerse yourself in the full glamorous, luxury cruise from the Savoy Pier to Battersea Bridge.
There will be three bars on board the transformed Silver Surgeon serving classy martinis, champagne and Bourne & Hollingsworth‘s famous cocktails. Entertainment comes straight from the old itinerary of a 1930s ship and includes live bands and performers, roulette and blackjack.
The dress code is ‘At-Sea Formalwear’ so ladies this is a chance to go all out with silk, fur, jewels and backless dresses. Gentlemen get your best suit dry cleaned.
Remember that those fortunate enough to afford a ticket onboard a cruise liner in 1930 were rich and totally glamorous. So ignore the fact that you buy supermarket basics the rest of the week and revel in your newfound posh status – nobody will notice that your pearls came from a Christmas cracker.
