To ensure that their collection doesn't have a big 21st-century hole in it, the V&A have begun 'rapid response collecting' contemporary design and architecture. The approach allows them to engage with current affairs that influence (or are influenced by) architecture and technology, and when the display opens in Gallery 74 it will include the world's first 3D printed gun and a pair of Primark jeans which were recovered from the Rana Plaza factory disaster.
