Sweden: Loreen to Baku!

Tonight, live from Globen Arena in Stockholm, Sweden selected Loreen as their 52nd entrant for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest. Her entry “Euphoria” won the contest by a tight result to Danny.  After a total of ten entries performed tonight, Loreen was victorious, winning both, the jury votes and televoting. She got standing ovation from the audience after finishing her performance. Loreen received 268 points (114 from the jury and 154 from televoting)

Lorine Zineb Noka Talhaoui better known as Loreen was born on 16 October 1983 to a Moroccan-Berber family. Loreen’s career debuted when she competed in “Idol 2004″ and became fourth. Her first single was released in 2005 named “The Snake”. Six years later, Loreen made her stage comeback. She took part in Melodifestivalen 2011 with “My Heart is Refusing Me” but failing to go to the final. However, that year she also released “Sober”, which together with “My Heart is Refusing Me”  occupied the Swedish Music Charts. In 2012, Loreen decided to challenge herself again for Melodifestivalen with “Euphoria”. She won the first semi final, going straight to Final. After many polls and rumors about the Melodifestivalen winner, Loreen won the contest. She was also number one in our poll, receiving more than 1,000 votes.

“Euphoria” is written and composed by Thomas G:son and Peter Boström. Both authors, will take part in Eurovision 2012 with two countries. Thomas G:son also produced the Spanish entry, whilst Peter Boström produced the Nowegian entry.
