Viet Nam is one of eight countries that is part of the UN pilot initiative to “Deliver as One.” As the pace of positive change in Viet Nam quickens, it is entering a new phase of development that requires a more coherent, effective and efficient UN to meet its growing needs at a time when it is not primarily about service delivery anymore, but about providing coherent, high-quality policy advice. “Clearly business as usual is not an option,” says Viet Nam Resident Coordinator John Hendra in the video. “Viet Nam is changing rapidly and we as the United Nations also have to change with it.” This 10-minute clip was shot in August 2008.
