What Irks The Owner When You Order at Ladyface Alehouse

"When you put this giant wedge of lemon over the top of it, it totally kills the subtle yeast characteristics that are present…And then the oils from the rind come out; it actually stales the beer immediately. It’s a marketing trick, but really you should be appreciating the beer for what it is, and not adding fruit to it." -Cyrena Nouzille, owner of Agoura Hill's Ladyface Alehouse and Brasserie, on beer-ordering pet peeves. • Well, duh. A wedge of orange or lemon in a glass of hefe is a sign the beer's gone off. Originally, it was done to DELIBERATELY cover up the off-taste. When someone asks for lemon or orange, know that they are a beer posuer. When a bartender gives you one, know that he doesn't know much about the beer he's serving.
