Aliasd: Hi all, I'd like to nominate Aliasd as an administrator for the Tok Pisin Wikipedia. He's a sensible and fair-minded editor, who has been highly active on the English Wikipedia in editing articles on Papua New Guinea, and has contributed exceptionally as one of the primary members of Wikiproject Melanesia. I believe he will serve the Tok Pisin Wikipedia admirably as an administrator. He has not contributed a great deal to the Tok Pisin Wikipedia as yet, but I believe (in recent times, at least) that may be due in part to the difficulties with the current temporary administrator. He can speak for himself on that score. I believe Aliasd will be an inclusive, welcoming, active member of the Tok Pisin Wikipedia community and will make wise and cautious use of administrator priveleges. I commend Aliasd as a candidate for adminstrator. Wantok 03:30, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Questions for the candidate[edit source]
Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia as an administrator. You may wish to answer the following optional questions to provide guidance for participants:
- 1. What admin work do you intend to take part in?
- A: I think an important thing is the migration and protection of basic templates and user scripts for the moment. I would like to see this job done properly, before users start to introduce these things themselves improperly, or insecurely. I would also like to introduce a spam and vandalism warning system and put in place the proper mechanisms for problem management. Aliasd 07:23, 15 August 2007
- 2. What are your best contributions to Wikipedia, and why?
- A: I am most proud of my PNG provincial maps. I also reconstructed most of the provincial flags. I have written a large number of PNG related articles on en wiki, and am delighted when I see them on the main page. I believe PNG is one of the least represented countries on Wikipedia, and so much of my PNG related work makes me feel like a pioneer of sorts. I am particularly proud of the english Tabubil article, and hope to translate it to tok pisin one day. Aliasd 07:23, 15 August 2007
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A: I keep wikistress levels to a minimum. I have a stressful job and user disputes seem trivial to me. I just try to keep in mind at all times that the other person may be a bit more emotionally involved than me and I try to exercise as much diplomacy as possible.
- I guess the most important thing is, if I ever do lose my head, and I have before, to be able to come back around and admit I was wrong, out of place, and do my best to rectify the situation. I think pride is a great enemy on Wikipedia, and I do not let it gain a foothold. Aliasd 07:23, 15 August 2007

- Strong Support - User:Aliasd is an Active Contributor on Tok Pisin Wikipedia. This demonstrates his excellent skills and ability to contribute in his native tongue. I believe he has the competency, knowledge and expertise to become a successful Administrator in the near future. --Jose77 01:19, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
- Comment Tok Pisin is not my native tongue, Tok Inglis is. All the same, Thankyou for your support. Aliasd 11:48, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
