In a post posted on May 29, 2009 titled "AN ALIEN SPACECRAFT SAVED EARTH?", Sharkatron3000 theorized, holding the control panel carved with strange symbols found in the middle of the crash site as possible proof, that the Tunguska event may have involved an alien spacecraft or something of sorts in Earth orbit checking in on the progress of humanity and, seeing that a meteor was about to slam to Earth, deciding to sacrifice itself to save all life on the planet. He further speculated that if it survived the ordeal, it possibly may have hid itself or that it may have been taken in by the USA to Area 51 or by the Soviet Union to Kapustin Yar.

Neverthess, it filled him with some shred of hope that some aliens may be on their side. The Real Effing Deal

IDW movie comics

Shockwave heard the scream of the AllSpark when it was found by Sector Seven. Leaving Dreadwing in charge of the Decepticons on Cybertron, Shockwave set out in an impossibly fast ship, swearing not to return without the AllSpark. He crashed in Tunguska, Siberia in 1908. Rising Storm #2

Notes

  • According by John Barber, the Tunguska event plot came from Shockwave's production bio,[1] but it is unknown if this plotline was ever intended to be used in the movie itself.
