Minerva is an Autobot from the Animated continuity family.

Having been trained as a medic on Cybertron by Fixit, Minerva was dispatched to Earth for some actual experience in the field under the tutelage of Ratchet. While en route to the Autobot's base in Detroit, however, she went off course and crash-landed in Quebec, Canada. Scanning a Japanese car for an alternate mode, she made contact with its female teenage driver, and learned that despite what was being said on Cybertron, organics weren't so bad after all! This first human friendship has led her to become just as comfortable hanging around human girls as her fellow Earth-bound Autobots are.

At some point during the war, Minerva reattached Warpath's leg.

Millions of years after the war, Warpath accompanied Minerva as she stalked Optimus Prime, Cybertron's newest hero. Unlike everyone else, however, she wasn't interested in Optimus himself, but in getting in with his associate, Ratchet. She was determined to be his protégée at any stalkery cost.

Timelines Minerva is a redeco of the Animated Deluxe Arcee toy, transforming into a sleek Cybertronian race car. She comes with two wings, which can be attached at the rear of her vehicle mode (or her robot mode back), and two swords, which can be held in her hands or stored securely in shafts in the rear of her vehicle mode (or atop her shoulder kibble). Some have reported, with the Arcee figure, the swords fit loosely, though they are designed to click into place—albeit with a certain amount of fiddling in some cases.

Minerva was only available to paid attendees of the customization class at BotCon 2011, given to them as a set of unpainted, unassembled parts still on their runners, like a model kit, with the participants provided the materials needed to assemble, paint and sticker the toy. She continues the trend begun with Sideswipe the previous year of actually being cast in new colors of plastic (in this case, red, white, and grey instead of magenta, off-white and black), and even comes with two unique new pieces sculpted from resin: a set of ear-antennae matching those in Derrick J. Wyatt's character model for Minerva, and an optional second set that replicate the appearance of the original Minerva's antennae, designed by Jesse Wittenrich.

The toy also comes with a Tech Specs-style bio that was written by class organizer Shawn D. Tessmann and Wyatt.

The original mold was used as the model for the Japanese-card-reader-game-only Chromia, and redecoed for the BotCon 2011 exclusive Drag Strip.

Notes

• Minerva's landing in Quebec is a nod to the original Minerva's half-French heritage, while the Japanese car she scans pays homage to the character's Japanese roots. Of course, the girl involved in the whole process harkens back to the original Minerva actually being a human girl.
• Tessmann considers Minerva to be "more official" than previous years' customization class toys due to Wyatt's involvement.
• Abby Collins voiced Minerva with a Canadian accent, which makes sense, dontcha know.
• Shawn D. Tessmann used the same clear blue found on BotCon 2009's Thunder Clash and gray from the same set's Flak for Minerva's color scheme. With the white and red coming from Generations Red Alert, this was done in an effort to increase the chances of getting Minerva cast in unique colors from Arcee or Drag Strip—by simplifying the requested colors.
