Continuity Unicron Trilogy

Six Shot and Galvatron both want the Super Energon... who will succeed?

Contents

Synopsis

Galvatron bashes Six Shot into a wall and holds his sword to his throat for his insubordination. Six Shot's promises to be loyal manage to save him. Starscream points out that Optimus Prime becomes more powerful when he combines with the other Autobots.

In a passageway below ground, Hot Shot chastises Sally for recklessly squeezing her way into a damaged side passage, with much butt-wiggling and almost-upskirt and yeesh.

In the control room, Six Shot tries to relax with a good comic book about catgirls... but it's hard to read with Mirage, Demolishor and Snow Cat glowering at him from inches away. He suggests that, since not much is going on, their time might be better used getting some Super Energon for themselves, since Galvatron will inevitably use more of it to help him defeat the powered-up Optimus, and Starscream will get a dose too, moving him even further up the ladder and leaving them behind. The three goons transform and leave; Six Shot sets to work and quickly traps the three in a corridor. He sets off for the Super Energon himself, leaving the control room empty... as a watching Sally notes.

You'd better not be looking up my skirt!
Starscream blasts his way to where the goons are trapped, having come to see why the corridors were blocked. He's not happy to realize that they've left Six Shot alone in the control room.

Kicker, Ironhide and their crew of Omnicons arrive at the Primus chamber. Dr. Jones greets his son warmly, only to be totally ignored. Rad informs him that Primus is visibly weaker since powering up Optimus. Suddenly, Sally's voice rings out; she informs the others of the empty control room and that Galvatron is heading for the control room. The group splits up, some heading to stop Galvatron, the rest going to the control center.

Starscream arrives in the control room, prompting Sally to hide. Meanwhile, Six Shot descends toward the Super Energon chamber, with Galvatron not far behind. Six Shot ambushes him when he arrives; Galvatron sics Scorponok on the traitor.

Ironhide, Kicker and the Omnicons are climbing down the elevator shaft, when an impact knocks them loose and sends them falling the rest of the way. After seeing the battling Terrorcons, Kicker and the Omnicons head after Galvatron, but are delayed by a swarm of Terrorcons. Six Shot's battle with Scorponok likewise delays him, and Galvatron enters the Super Energon chamber.

Say Arcee, something's different about you.
Remember the Unicron orb? It's still there.

Galvatron laughs as he bathes in the Super Energon, feeling its power.

Remember the painting on the Super Energon Temple ceiling? It's still there.

Starscream and the goons are fighting the Autobots who have managed to make it to the base and can't get into the control chamber, which Sally has sealed off. Starscream suspects the humans are responsible for their troubles. Sally also opens the space gate, and Rodimus and the others arrive over Cybertron.

The planet quakes, signaling to a frustrated Six Shot that Galvatron has reached the Super Energon. Galvatron emerges from the pool, empowered. Starscream senses him powering up, and heads to the surface; the goons follow.

Sally's control panel explodes, but salvation comes—sort of—in the form of stuck-in-the-sliding-doors Dr. Jones. Sally promptly ignores her oblivious father to run into the arms of Rad. The Autobots arrive, and order the humans to evacuate to safety on Ocean Planet.

The planet quakes as a gigantic Galvatron emerges, and Six Shot is the first to feel his new might. Despite his pleadings, Galvatron obliterates him, grinding him under his heel. A wounded Scorponok limps back to his master.

Jetfire and some Omnicons head for Ocean Planet with Sally and Miranda. Rad notes that Sally sure is growing up fast... a sentiment that earns him a sharp warning from Dr. Jones.

Galvatron is huge and powerful, and his troops exult. A broken Six Shot tells Scorponok that he's finally free of Galvatron's tyranny, but Scorponok points out the price he paid.

Optimus, Omega and the others head back to Cybertron, while Alpha Q frets over what they'll find there.

Quotes

"And I've been so loyal! How could Galvatron not know how I feel about him?"

Mirage provides fuel for twisted fangirl imaginations

"I can feel the energon vibes."
"Vibes, kewel..."
"We're totally vibin' now."

Kicker and a pair of stoner Strongarms

Snow Cat: Oh, no! The Auto-brats have gotten some more firepower!
Mirage: There will be more of them. But at least we'll always have each other.
Snow Cat: Aw, Mirage. You've really gotta stop reading all those romance novels.

—Mirage, hopeless romantic

Galvatron: You're finished!
Six Shot: No, I'm Six Shot! Don't you remember?

—Six Shot doesn't get the most epic death scene.

Notes

Lost in translation

  • It starts right away again, as dub Starscream randomly states that Optimus becomes more powerful when combining with the other Autobots—as if anybody hadn't figured that out 40 episodes earlier. In Super Link, he notes a similarity between Optimus's recent super-sized power-up and that of the Terrorcon drones not long before that.
  • Immediately thereafter, the dub omits Six Shot vowing not to give up the Super Energon to Galvatron.
  • The green energon gas overlay is missing from the dub's animation as Galvatron enters the Super Energon chamber.
  • Six Shot's last line before Galvatron steps on him is "I'm Six Shot" in Super Link. There was a running gag of everyone calling him "Little Brother", and Six Shot was correcting yet another instance.

Pain count

  • "Uh?": 2

Continuity Errors

  • Galvatron has his wings and shoulder cannons blown off by Six Shot, and they stay that way until he dives into the Super Energon... at which point they're inexplicably back, with nothing to show how.

Trivia

(thumbnail)
Super Energon - more powerful than CGI rendering.
  • Arcee is hand drawn while she, Kicker, Ironhide, and the Omnicons watch Scorponok battle Six Shot.
  • Galvatron's face also gets the hand-drawn animation upgrade as he bathes in the Super Energon.
  • Steamhammer actually gets a rare robot mode appearance; he's briefly seen wrestling with Landmine.
  • Six Shot doesn't seem terribly upset about being killed; he just kind of goes "Gah" as Galvatron steps on him.
  • Six Shot is reading a comic about Nekomimi A and Nekomimi B at one point. This is abundantly creepy.

Foreign localization

Italian

  • Title: "Lotta per il potere" ("Fight for the Power")
  • After Sally says: "Yeah, as long as Kicker doesn't come with you!", his brother is supposed to make an angry grunt, but, in Italian, he doesn't. Because of this, him spreding his legs becomes a non sequitur.
