Northren Scots refers tae the dialects o Modren Scots tradeetionally spoken in eastren pairts o the north o Scotland.

The dialect is generally dividit intae:^[1]^[2]

North Northren spoken in Caithness, Easter Ross an the Black Isle.
Mid Northren, popularly kent as the Doric, spoken in Aiberdeenshire, Banff an Buchan, Moray an the Nairn aurie.
Sooth Northren spoken in East Angus an the Mearns.

Northren Scots, lik Insular Scots, is amang the maist conservative Scots byleids as weel as haein lang-term contack wi ither leids.^[3]
