Miles Ratledge (born 1967 in Coventry, Ingland) is a founding member of the band Napalm Death,[1] the band credited with creating the grindcore genre which blended elements of extreme metal and punk rock.
Biography
Miles Ratledge (Rat) is ane o the foondin members o Napalm Death, alang wi Nicholas Bullen (Nik Napalm). The duo haed collaboratit on fanzines an played thegither in a number o 'bedroom' baunds frae 1980 onwards, afore formin the first line-up o Napalm Death in Mey 1981 (when they wur 13 an 14 year auld).
Ratledge left Napalm Death in December 1985 due tae muisical disagreements. He went on tae form the group Aberration in early 1987 (featurin the poet Andy Nunn on bass, Ian McCugo on vocals an Simon Holland on guitar) an the group Witch Hunt in late 1987 (which featured ex-Napalm Death members Finbarr Quinn an Graham Robertson).
Ratledge left Ingland tae travel the warld in 1988 an retired frae muisic efter that. He is currently livin in Aarhus, Denmark whaur he runs an Ashtanga Yoga schuil
