CX2: Adjust thresholds for unmodified content warnings
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

When users do not edit enough the initially provided content (from machine translation or copying the original) a warning is shown (T190279). Currently the warning is shown when unmodified content exceeds 75%. Our recent observations (T207831) show that it is possible to have perfectly reviewed paragraphs that still have 76-77% of unmodified text when using MT (frequently resulting in false positives); while much heavier modifications are needed when using the source content as a staring point.

We may want to adjust these thresholds in the following way:

  • For paragraphs started with MT, show the warning when the unmodified content is higher than 80%
  • For paragraphs started by copying the source text, show the warning when unmodified content is higher than 60%.

A separate ticket is in charge of adjustments about when to better shown these warnings (T200683), which can affect the visibility of false positives too.
