After the last few weeks of fumbling, Liverpool are now once again playing catch up in the league. On Sunday, they’re travelling down to Craven Cottage to gain a much needed three points against Fulham.

The Reds are experiencing a downswing at a crucial moment in their season. However, there are some positives to consider. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Diogo Jota have returned to the side after long spells on the injury list. While Conor Bradley has proved himself a worthy substitute at right-back, Alexander-Arnold is a key part of Klopp’s set up.

After five winless matches, Fulham finally managed a win against West Ham. They are currently safely midtable despite their spring flailing. On Sunday, they will try to use the home field advantage and Liverpool’s slump to snatch another victory.

Predicted Liverpool Lineup (4-3-3)

Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson, Endo, Mac Allister, Jones; Salah, Nunez, Diaz

The injury list that Klopp’s contending with has gotten thankfully smaller. Thiago Alcantara, Ben Doak, and Joel Matip remain there. Bradley has a ligament issue that made him miss the game against Atalanta and will also keep him out against Fulham. Joe Gomez is close to a return. Alexander-Arnold and Jota, as mentioned, should be available to at least make the bench.

As for Fulham, Silva has a full squad to choose from. What’s that like, I wonder?

What the Managers Had to Say

Jurgen Klopp: “Marco is just an exceptional coach, I have to say, I always liked him, I always liked what he did and [what] he’s doing there again. They had a bit of a strange season – they were not [doing] well, then particularly well, then again a few results which you were [like], ‘Oh, what happened now?’ but won five in a row and with really high results whenever that was.”

Marco Silva: “What I know, and what I’m sure of, is that they are going to react. We all know Liverpool, we all know that they come from a really tough result in the Premier League, of course to be out of the Europa League was really tough for them as well.”

The Officials

Referee: Craig Pawson. Assistants: Marc Perry, Wade Smith. Fourth Official: Sam Allison. VAR: Tony Harrington. Assistant VAR: Richard West.
