N.Turbe Suetens E Sangathan Project Presentation - eSangathan International C...esangathan
The document summarizes an international conference discussing active aging and collaborative work environments. It notes that the eSangathan project aims to create a social model using retired Indian experts and collaborative technology environments in Europe. Two pilot programs are being conducted, one entrepreneurial pilot in Öresund, Europe and one corporate pilot at Mahindra & Mahindra in India, to test collaborative working environments and tools like blogs, wikis, and social bookmarking. The conference also presented findings from the first year of the eSangathan project operations and a draft white paper.
The document summarizes findings from the Öresund Pilot project. It describes the objectives of establishing the pilot project and training members. It discusses that members actively used the common working environment (CWE) tool but also needed additional in-person meetings for longer introductions. Themes of importance for members included contributing to sustainable development. Participants experienced and some learned how to act in a virtual community, but shifting to self-organizing thinking from a hierarchical structure was difficult. Examples of success included members starting a consultancy and implementing CWE tools for non-profits and international trade.
M.Membrado CWE Usage Analysis - eSangathan International Conferenceesangathan
The document discusses findings from pilots testing collaborative working environments (CWEs) conducted by the eSangathan consortium over two years. It provides statistics on tool usage from the consortium and two project pilots. A learning curve for one pilot shows initial reliance on emails shifting to blogs/wikis for communication and CWEs for file sharing. Training and one-on-one support helped structure information in CWE knowledge bases. While older workers faced a longer learning curve, their motivation to share made CWE adoption successful with a focus on participation before collaboration.
M.Vartak Indian Pilot - eSangathan International Conferenceesangathan
The document discusses an Indian pilot project involving retiree experts and a collaborative work environment (CWE) tool. It provides profiles of 10 retiree experts involved in the pilot. It then describes implementing the pilot, including establishing CWE infrastructure, customizing the tool, and monitoring usage. It provides a sample retiree expert profile and observations from the pilot. It concludes with recommendations for adopting CWE, changing corporate strategies, and ensuring future use of CWE by retiree experts.
L. Hansen Ams - eSangathan International Conferenceesangathan
The document summarizes key aspects of Denmark's labor market policies relating to seniors and older workers. It discusses Denmark's flexicurity model and active labor market policies. It notes Denmark's aging population and highlights several initiatives to increase senior employment rates, including raising the retirement age, strengthening economic incentives for older workers, and "soft initiatives" like senior job networks and best practice sharing. The employment rate for workers aged 55-59 increased from 1997 to 2006.
The document defines the methodological approach and roadmap for creating social innovations and sustainable growth. It suggests implementing an integrated roadmap from two pilots using a culturally diverse approach to digital inclusion. The roadmap connects social connectivity, informational connectivity, and different problem-solving methods like narratives and team syntegrity to better integrate aging workforces.
L. Forsberg Kkikk - eSangathan International Conferenceesangathan
The document discusses Network Action, an organization that aims to connect people through networking events and an online platform. It focuses on helping seniors, entrepreneurs, startups, and the unemployed utilize their skills and networks. The organization holds live networking events that bring diverse groups of people together to share contacts, expertise, and opportunities. It also maintains an online forum to continue connections made at events and expand people's networks internationally. The business model involves training facilitators and licensing the Network Action method while keeping participation free for members.
K. Balucka Debska - eSangathan International Conferenceesangathan
The document discusses the 2008 European e-Inclusion Initiative and Conference. The initiative seeks to enable full participation in society regardless of disadvantages through accessibility, awareness raising, and sharing best practices. The 2008 conference in Vienna aimed to celebrate progress, update goals, and bring together over 1200 people to discuss themes like accessibility, aging, literacy, and inclusion. It also featured an exhibition, awards for projects, and sponsorship opportunities.
C. Robert Senior Flex - eSangathan International Conferenceesangathan
SeniorFlex is an association founded in 2003 to fight age discrimination and promote active aging. It represents seniors aged 45+ and questions whether they are profitable and flexible enough to remain active. The document outlines obstacles faced by seniors, including biases against their activity, outdated legislation, reduced benefits, and isolation. It argues seniors are motivated, efficient, rapid, eager to transmit knowledge, flexible, and valuable contributors to intergenerational teams. SeniorFlex calls for uniting seniors, changing mentalities, and adapting laws and work conditions to enable flexible senior employment.
N. Turbe Suetens White Paper - eSangathan International Conferenceesangathan
This white paper discusses active aging workers (AAW) and how information and communication technologies (ICT) can help support them. It addresses key issues like the loss of knowledge from an aging workforce. The paper proposes recommendations at the EU, public, corporate, and individual levels to better utilize experienced older workers and facilitate intergenerational knowledge transfer through ICT tools and training programs.
