Archiving WT:WikiProject Disability

Extended content

Please don't manually archive topics at the WikiProect Disability Talk page. your latest archiving action left the talk page essentially empty. Please allow the automatic archiving system to do its thing. It is set up not to completely remove the latest discussions. Thank you Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 15:01, 8 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

OK! Just trying to clean up some WikiProject talk pages. Happy editing! ---Another Believer (Talk) 15:05, 8 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Any page watchers interested in co-nominating for GA status?

edit

There are a handful of articles I've worked on that are in decent shape but could use some polishing before being nominated for Good article status. I am curious if any page watchers might be interested in finalizing and co-nominating any of the following Wikipedia articles:

If so, let me know here or on the article's talk page! Thanks! ---Another Believer (Talk) 13:47, 10 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

(gasp) I'll copyedit as many as I can, starting with MidCity SmashBurger. TWOrantulaTM (enter the web) 20:30, 11 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
@TrademarkedTWOrantula Thanks! If you come across any inaccuracies or content gaps, feel free to share on the talk page. For MidCity in particular, I recall needing to double check the criteria for the "best in the world" claim and decide if this was valid for inclusion. Otherwise, could be a fun article to collaborate on! ---Another Believer (Talk) 20:49, 11 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Uploading logo files

edit
Extended content

Hi Another Believer. You recently uploaded several logos for restaurants and other establishments that appear to be too simple to be eligible for copyright protection under US copyright law as explained in c:COM:TOO United States. Most of if not all of these files either have already been or should be re-licensed as public domain content. Playing it safe and uploading content as non-free is, for sure, OK, particularly when not sure whether a logo is eligible for copyright protection; the US, however, has a relatively high threshold of originality and pretty much any timeype of text-only logo or combination of simple shapes and colors is going to be considered to simple for copyright protection. Many of your recent files seem to be this type of logo and should eventually be moved to Commons since Commons is perfectly fine in hosting files of logo as along as they meet c:COM:TOO and c:COM:CB#Logos. You can save others some cleanup work, if you just uploaded such files directly to Commons; Commons files are "global" in the sense that they can be easily used by all WMF projects whereas Wikipedia files are "local" and can only be used on Wikipedia. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:30, 11 July 2024 (UTC); edited 21:00, 11 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

I'd rather upload here and let others move to Commons appropriately, but thanks. ---Another Believer (Talk) 13:21, 11 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
That's fine. You can upload public domain or otherwise freely licensed file to Wikipedia if you want. If you do so, though, tagging them with {{Copy to Wikimedia Commons}} will make it easier for others to find them. -- Marchjuly (talk) 21:00, 11 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
