User-reported[edit]
- MBHbot (talk · contribs · deleted · filter log · SUL · Google) • (block · soft · promo · cause · bot · hard · spam · vandal) Unauthorised bot. Fram (talk) 12:44, 12 June 2024 (UTC)
- Note: MBHbot is currently partial blocked. HBC AIV helperbot5 (talk) 20:34, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- Doesn't EXEMPTBOT apply for this? Nobody (talk) 12:56, 12 June 2024 (UTC)
- Not a violation. Userspace editing is allowed per EXEMPTBOT. – DreamRimmer (talk) 13:02, 12 June 2024 (UTC)
- Being discussed with the user. Salvio giuliano 19:05, 12 June 2024 (UTC)
- If we are not going to block them I think we need to keep watching them as I expect they will edit without the bot flag. Secretlondon (talk) 21:13, 12 June 2024 (UTC)
- Secretlondon, I agree. I am somewhat on the fence here, but only because the account is so old... As far as I'm concerned, the username violation is clear and WP:EXEMPTBOT does not apply in this case, because that policy does not deal with usernames, whereas WP:BOTNAME does. — Salvio giuliano 11:39, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- Salvio giuliano Since it is actually a bot that has the bot flag on multiple other wikis wouldnt't it be more disruptive to those wikis if we make them change the name? Nobody (talk) 11:56, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- We cannot and should not make them change their name.Secretlondon (talk) 15:05, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- The issue is that I think it is editing as a bot on en:, despite not being approved. I think there is a case for blocking it until it gets approval. Secretlondon (talk) 15:06, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- I've partially blocked them from article space. Either this is a unapproved bot, or it is a username violation. Just Step Sideways from this world ..... today 20:40, 13 June 2024 (UTC)

- Niggzieboy (talk · contribs · deleted · filter log · SUL · Google) • (block · soft · promo · cause · bot · hard · spam · vandal) – Violation of the username policy as an offensive username. Skywatcher68 (talk) 18:35, 12 June 2024 (UTC)
- Note: User is in the category: User talk pages with conflict of interest notices. HBC AIV helperbot5 (talk) 15:04, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- Why is it offensive? Are you presuming it's a racial slur? Secretlondon (talk) 21:17, 12 June 2024 (UTC)
- It's clearly a COI as they admit to be editing on behalf of the person they are writing about. Secretlondon (talk) 15:10, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- Maskip0079 (talk · contribs · deleted · filter log · SUL · Google) • (block · soft · promo · cause · bot · hard · spam · vandal) – Violation of the username policy as a promotional username. "MAS is an organization..." from userpage. Air on White (talk) 07:01, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- MAS also seems to be a story, not a real thing. Does kip0079 represent an individual? It's not a username issue IMO. Secretlondon (talk) 15:38, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- Thomaslite (talk · contribs · deleted · filter log · SUL · Google) • (block · soft · promo · cause · bot · hard · spam · vandal) – Violation of the username policy as a promotional username. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 07:10, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- I don't see any connection between this username and the entity they were promoting. Am I wrong, Vanderwaalforces? Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 11:09, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- @Justlettersandnumbers See Google and especially https://github.com/MathieuGuillout/ThomasLite Vanderwaalforces (talk) 11:15, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- That's the GitHub page for a slide template? Secretlondon (talk) 15:29, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- @Secretlondon perhaps. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 15:31, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- This is just irritating. Secretlondon (talk) 15:40, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- @Secretlondon Ah, I’m sorry if it (my reply?) is irritating (to you?). I trust your judgement that it is not a blatant username policy violation. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 18:16, 13 June 2024 (UTC)

- Not a blatant violation of the username policy. Please discuss this with the user first, and consider opening a community discussion at Requests for comment/User names if they disagree with your concerns. Secretlondon (talk) 15:39, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- Oatmoviepage (talk · contribs · deleted · filter log · SUL · Google) • (block · soft · promo · cause · bot · hard · spam · vandal) – Violation of the username policy as a promotional username. Draft:Oru Anveshanathinte Thudakkam (2024 film). Wikishovel (talk) 09:42, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- I don't see any connection between this username and the subject of the draft. Am I wrong, Wikishovel? Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 11:11, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- The film is titled Oru Anveshanathinte Thudakkam, and it's a single-purpose account to create a "movie page" about it. Wikishovel (talk) 11:13, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- Yes indeed. I should probably have written " ... unacceptable connection". Does this really come under WP:CORPNAME, "Usernames that unambiguously represent the name of a ... product"? Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 11:22, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- I'd say yes if I reported this though. It is pretty obvious. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 11:26, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- It seems unambiguous to me, but YMMV. I'll defer to your judgment on this, and thanks for asking. Wikishovel (talk) 11:28, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- COI yes, but the name itself isn't promotional enough as you wouldn't know what oat stood for, unless you knew the name of the movie. Secretlondon (talk) 15:36, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- Not overtly promotional on its own, but I would say it definitely falls under CORPNAME as a role account. Writ Keeper ⚇♔ 22:37, 13 June 2024 (UTC)

- St. Baldrick's Foundation (talk · contribs · deleted · filter log · SUL · Google) • (block · soft · promo · cause · bot · hard · spam · vandal) – Violation of the username policy as a promotional username. The account is old but has a clear conflict of interest with St. Baldrick's Foundation. Annh07 (talk) 15:32, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- Note: User is in the category: User talk pages with conflict of interest notices. HBC AIV helperbot5 (talk) 15:35, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- I've left them a COI template but it's too old to action as a username. Secretlondon (talk) 15:34, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- Stale: This account has not been used in the last 2–3 weeks. Secretlondon (talk) 15:34, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- Heatherhortonart (talk · contribs · deleted · filter log · SUL · Google) • (block · soft · promo · cause · bot · hard · spam · vandal) – Violation of the username policy as a promotional username. This user probably means well, their edits haven't been disruptive *but* take a look at the user name and consider that their edits have only been to the article "Heather Horton". - Not a violation of the username policy. Real names are permitted except when they imply that the editor is a specific living person they are not. Consider filing a report at the conflict of interest noticeboard. Cullen328 (talk) 20:22, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- Polish syco (talk · contribs · deleted · filter log · SUL · Google) • (block · soft · promo · cause · bot · hard · spam · vandal) – Violation of the username policy as a disruptive username. Polish psycho?. Skywatcher68 (talk) 20:46, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
