Fyter Fest is an upcoming professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by All Elite Wrestling (AEW). It will be the second event in the Fyter Fest chronology.

Production

Background

On June 29, 2019, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) held a pay-per-view (PPV) event titled Fyter Fest. The show was a follow-up to the Community Effort Orlando (CEO) and New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) co-promoted CEO⨯NJPW: When Worlds Collide event, which was organized by then-NJPW wrestler Kenny Omega.[1][2] While AEW President and CEO Tony Khan had stated that there would be a second Fyter Fest event, it was not officially announced until May 2020's Double or Nothing where a second show was announced, thus establishing Fyter Fest as an annual event for AEW.[3] It was later revealed by Khan that the event was initially scheduled to take place in London, England in June and be AEW's U.K. live event debut but had to change locations due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[4]

Storylines

Fyter Fest will feature professional wrestling matches that involve different wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds and storylines. Wrestlers will portray heroes, villains, or less distinguishable characters in scripted events that build tension and culminate in a wrestling match or series of matches.[5] Storylines will be produced on AEW's weekly shows Dynamite and Dark and The Young Bucks' YouTube series Being The Elite.

At Double or Nothing, the debuting Brian Cage won the nine-man Casino Ladder Match to earn a future AEW World Championship opportunity.[3] It was later announced that Cage would cash-in his championship opportunity at Fyter Fest against AEW World Champion Jon Moxley, who successfully defended his title against Mr. Brodie Lee at Double or Nothing.[3]
