Musashi (武蔵国; -no kuni) was an old province of Japan, which today composes Tokyo prefecture, most of Saitama prefecture and part of Kanagawa prefecture. Musashi bordered on Kai, Kouzuke, Sagami, Shimosa, and Shimotsuke provinces.


The Japanese battleship IJN Musashi was named after this province.


There is also the author and swordsman known as Musashi, who has written the famous Book of the Five Rings.
