This image identification is an error, and we already have this same image, correctly identified, and in color on another file. It is not James Bowie. Here is the https://www.tsl.state.tx.us/treasures/republic/alamo/crockett-01.html Davy Crockett photo at the Texas State Archives and Library Commission. It identifies it as an 1889 photo by William Henry Huddle. This image is already on Commons correctly as Davy Crockett by William Henry Huddle, 1889.jpg The one identified as Bowie needs to be deleted, because the misidenttification comes from wording on the bottom of the image itself.
