Just Champion: Manchester City Beat West Ham To Claim Premier League Title

Blues Make it Four in a Row

Manchester City v West Ham United - Premier League

Manchester City were crowned Premier League champions for the fourth successive year as they overcame West Ham on a sunny afternoon at the Etihad Stadium. Phil Foden calmed any nerves with a brace inside 18 minutes. Although Mohammed Kudus pulled a goal back before half-time, Rodri made sure of the points, and the title, in the 59th minute.

City needed to win to guarantee the title, while rivals Arsenal were hoping for any slip that would allow them a chance of snatching it from City’s grasp. The Gunners faced Everton at the Emirates Stadium, but any chance of a helping hand by the Hammers was blown away after just two minutes.

Foden curled the blues ahead to settle any nerves inside the stadium, much to the disappointment of Gunners fans, then doubled the advantage just 16 minutes later with a brilliant finish after excellent work by Doku.

Kudus scored a stunning overhead kick to reduce the deficit, just moments after Everton had taken the lead at the Emirates, to further dampen Arsenal’s day. The Gunners levelled just moment later, as a rumour circulated that the Hammers had levelled at City, giving them hope that the could still claim the title.

This, of course, proved to be false, but as the half came to a close, the were a few nerves and a little apprehension in the stands. Surely City couldn’t throw it away from this position?

Thankfully, City continued to dominate the second half and when Rodri slotted home with 31 minutes remaining, that was game over. The reliable midfielder only needed a sight of goal and simply passed the ball home to make it 3-1.

The Blues had more chances, with Foden coming close to grabbing another hattrick, however, City hearts were in their mouths when Tomas Soucek scored late on to set up a nervy finish. Credit though to the West Ham man who immediately indicated that he’d handled and the goal was rightly disallowed.

Moments later, Arsenal scored a winner against Everton but it was all in vain. The final whistle went and the Blues were crowned champions of England for the fourth time in a row.

Final Score: City 3-1 West Ham

MANCHESTER CITY ARE CHAMPIONS AGAIN!!!!!
