Great reference with clear colour illustrations
I've been looking for this book! Borrowed it a couple of times from the public library around 02006. I'm amazed to remember so many of the faces of the subjects in the photographs & the illustrations. Some of them looked so dashing that I never forgot them.
Subject 50 was the crazy uncle who could irritate you but you're thankful he's on your team.
Subjects 65, 216, 221, 224, 239, & 297 struck me as the best-dressed in the book. I've always loved slate, so perhaps this is why I found the German uniforms consistently the most handsome.
Subjects 150 & 182 were both so goofy-looking, the latter reminding me a lot of Major Frank Burns!
The men 3rd & 4th from the right in the front row in the photograph on page 74 both remind me of my late uncle Tom (who also happened to be an RCAF veteran).
Never forgot the photo on page 243 of the old boys smoking their pipes either.
I remember being amused & fascinated by Subject 326: the Chinese National Army trooper with the German helmet & the WWI Mauser pistol.
I will have to take the time one of these days to fully read the book. Great reference for cosplay & trivia.
