Food
The chongqing roast pork intestine soup was amazing. It had just the right amount of spice ( I got regular) and the hand mande noodles were a must have.
Service
The service was the most homey service I have ever experienced. Came in close to closing and the servers led us to seating very kindly.
Ambiance is perfect for date spots!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - May 31, 2024Updated review
My bf and I decided to visit C.Q. Noodles again because we wanted soup noodles. It's been awhile and we thought our last visit was pretty good, so we were expecting some great dishes like last time, but unfortunately, we were very disappointed.
FREE RANGE CHICKEN MIXIAN SOUP ~ I used my chopsticks to see what was in my bowl and there wasn't much. It was a neck bone and more bones with very little meat. Honestly, I didn't get in a real bite of chicken. There were more bones! Noodles were thin and a small handful that would feed a child. Thankfully, I wasn't starving. And the broth was pretty salty. Was this supposed to be just soup? Definitely ordered wrong. 2/5
CHONGQING STYLE ROAST BEEF MIXIAN SOUP ~ A few chunks of beef with a little bit of noodles. Temperature was near boiling and doesn't cool off. Salty and spicy soup. 2/5
BRAISED PORK SLICES WITH PRESERVE MUSTARD GREEN ~ this dish at least had enough, but was also salty. 3/5
Unfortunately, not everyone can handle the amount of sodium that was consumed that your hands start to shake! And the temperature was SO hot that it took forever to finish a small bowl of noodles.
My bf still being hungry, decided to order braised pork slices with preserved mustard greens. From what he said, that too was very salty. I didn't bother trying it as I didn't want to be extra thirsty all night nor my blood pressure to skyrocket. Sadly, I don't think we'll be back.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Hello,Allena, thank you for your five-star review. Your support is the biggest motivation for us to continue to work hard to do better. We look forward to your next visit.Have a good day..!!
Sep 18, 2023Previous reviewWe were in the neighborhood and it was kind of late but wanted to grab a bite. Saw this place after parking the car and decided to try it out. I remembered reading about CQ noodles on Yelp, so we took a chance! It seems they get crowded since there's a waitlist but we were there around 9pm so there were some tables available, but still some people were eating. They had ceiling lights that looked like planets or space ships. Whatever it is, it gives off a celestial vibes. They also had pink flowers decorating the ceiling as well. Kinda dark like a lounge.
We glanced at the menu and it took us a bit to know what we'd like because they had a variety of Northern Chinese dishes that looked tempting. As my main, I ordered Chongqing Style Pork Trotters Noodle Soup, my bf ordered a House Special Beef Rib Noodle Soup, as appetizers, we had Chongqing Spice Braised Dish, and a side of yow choy. We also checked in and got a complimentary side dish of Chinese sausage.
Pork trotters noodle soup 5/5
Good flavors and the pork trotters were soft with good textures. Knife cut noodles were good too. Some were chewy while others were soft. I couldn't eat it all and had to take some home. It's rare for me to pack noodles to go!
House special beef rib noodle soup 5/5
He liked his dish and did leave anything behind! I tried the beef and it was tender and off the bone.
Chongqing Spice Braised Dish 5/5
Lots of good textures in this dish. Not too spicy.
Side vegetables 4/5
We were expecting gai lan, Chinese broccoli but got yow choy instead which was ok but it has a softer texture and less flavor than Chinese broccoli. And we know it's not as expensive as Chinese broccoli.
It's a late night spot and open till 11:30pm. That's what the sign said in front.
We enjoyed all the dishes here and I felt their prices were reasonable. They don't skimp on quantity or quality. We'll come again if we're in the neighborhood and craving some northern Chinese food! - 464263347May 5, 20241 check-in
I'm a big noodle girl so this spot has all the options I need. I ordered the and really enjoyed it! I liked the stone pot that it came in but because I'm a slow eater, I probably wouldn't get this again because it's hard to cool down the dish ( still piping hot 20 minutes into the meal).
Each table gets complementary plum juice but water can be given on request.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Apr 21, 2024
Don't get me wrong, the food is good here. The noodles have a good texture, the soup hit the spot. However, the cons outweigh the pros so I had to lower my rating.
Firstly, they don't give you water unless you ask for it. There was only one person working the front, so it was very hard to get his help.
Secondly, we waited 20 minutes to get our orders in, and 30 to get our food. The table next to us ordered, ate, AND left before we even got our food.
I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt and think it's because it was later at night so they were short staffed. I do appreciate the reasonable prices and the fact the iced tea is free. I'll have to try this place again during the day to see if there's differences.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 3356477May 17, 2024Updated reviewSeated via Yelp Reservations
I came back to this restaurant with my other girlfriends. It's like our annual catching up. We want to patronize our community so we would like to eat at the restaurant in our neighborhood and chosen CQ Noodles. The service was good. They were attentive to meet our needs. The food was delish. We ordered like a family style the Pork, Shrimp & Chives Dumpling, ChongQing Style Roast Beef Mixian Soup, Dan Dan Noodles & Chinese broccoli with garlic. They served the lemon iced tea as complimentary. We requested for mild spice serving. The restaurant was full of patrons from families, friends, neighbors. The room was clean. The restroom was okay and the hand wash was not refilled. I don't mind returning.
Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Apr 12, 2023Previous reviewThis restaurant was just opened a couple of months ago. Never had panda noodles before but dining at CQ Noodles the food was delish. The servers were friendly, available, attentive and quick to take care of customers' needs. My girls had the House Special Beef Rib Noodle Soup and I picked the ChongQing Style Seafood Mixian Soup. They were served hot and my seafood noodle soup was spicy. Per the server ChongQing is always spicy and cannot be adjusted according to customer's request. Now I know. I was good but I kept having runny nose, lol! We had the pork, shrimp & chives dumpling. It was delish. The hot tea served was bland and tasted like water. Hope they improve the type of tea they serve. Overall, I don't mind returning next time.

One of the best beef noodle/Chinese food places I've been to in a long time. I visited here with a friend recently and we were both amazed by the quality of food that we were presented with. The noodles were bouncy and chewy, the soup was hearty and flavorful, and the overall bowl did not lack meat or any other add ons. Food quality alone makes this place a 5 star instantly.
Some last notes about the rest of the space. The restaurant is pretty spacious but definitely not large so definitely plan around that. Also, service wasn't the greatest but with food this good, that's a pass in my book.
Come for the food, stay for the good vibes, and enjoy this amazing noodle place!Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 1 - 1901991021Mar 30, 2024Updated review3 check-ins
2nd time here
Roast beef soup noodles is tasty.
The broth is authentically spicy
The meat is fresh and can be more tender but nothing to complain about.
The noodle is chewy
Staff is friendly
Ambiance is casual and delightfulHelpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0Mar 23, 2024Previous reviewFirst time here, got recommended to try Chongqing special duck mixian noodles since I preferred white meat.
The broth is great, the duck was cooked perfectly tender and tasty. Spicy level is balanced.
A minor complaint is that the portion is a bit small.
I was very quiet when I came in around 5pm, liked the vibes. Service was great! - Mar 24, 2024
Came here with a group of friends. It's a small cozy restaurant, which had a few other parties but wasn't packed. There was some traditional Chinese decor around the space, although the artificial flowers and lighting felt slightly out of place. Here's what I ordered:
Chongqing style roast beef mixian soup (normal spice): 3.5/5. I kind of got catfished by the menu since the picture looked like it had a lot of meat, but it just had a few pieces, which were pretty chewy instead of soft. The noodles were satisfying though, and it packed a decent spice level, but it was hard to taste anything aside from the spice. It was served piping hot in a clay pot.
Stir-fried Yangzhou noodle: 4/5. Although we ordered this by mistake, it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Simple yet delicious stir-fried noodles. I wonder if any of the stir-fried noodles with meat are similar - if they're the same, then I would order that for sure.
Pig feet: 4.5/5. Served with varying sizes of meat pieces, it had a skewer seasoning even though it's probably not being cooked on a skewer. It had soft, fatty meat that my boyfriend really enjoyed.
We were also treated to complimentary plum juice, which was sweeter than expected, resembling iced tea more than sour plum.
Service was commendable; extra napkins were provided without request, and the plum juice was refilled once. The other noodle dishes looked tempting, and I'd consider returning to try them or indulge in the stir-fried noodles/skewers if we get the craving.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 2 - Mar 15, 2024
I was not feeling up to going out for dinner, therefore we placed a delivery order directly with the restaurant. While not everything found on their menu was available for delivery, the items we wanted were all available. The person taking the order was courteous, patient while we decided, and explained the spice level of each dish in case we wanted to reduce or increase the level.
We ordered the lamb stir fried noodles, the House Special Beef Short Rib noodles, and the Pan Fried Shanghai Buns.
Both noodle dishes were amazing. The broth of the short rib dish was flavorful and perfect for me as I had a bit of a cold. The noodles and veggies were perfect. The short rib was fall off the bone tender and super meaty. The lamb stir fry was crazy delicious. Each dish could have easily fed 2 people.
Finally, the pan-fried Shanghai buns are a perfect dish for a quick snack, or sharing as a pre-entree appetizer. The quick pan fry brown's the top and bottom of the bun and gives it a slight crisp. YUMMY, YUMMY, YUM!!!
I plan to return to San Francisco in a few months, and C. Q. Noodles is definitely on the list for a meal. I will not be under the weather, therefore I will dine in the restaurant.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 3Oh no 0 - Mar 13, 2024
Food: The noodles here are incredible. Serving is a little small, but flavor was amazing
Ambiance: Small quiet spot on Clement. We came at night and we were one of maybe 5 people in the restaurant.
Service: Free sour plum juice. Place is not very busy so service was fast. They do have reservations on Yelp, but we didn't really need one.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 1
