The food was delicious. We got the Chicken Korma and Tikka Masala for our main entrees. It was very creamy and rich in flavor! This was my first time trying Indian food in downtown SF, and I think I'd be a regular if I lived here. The tall ceilings and dark red interior makes it a perfect spot for dinner dates too.

Parwinder was an exceptional server. He was very communicative, patient, and friendly. Also gave us dessert on the house!

Definitely recommend giving this place a try. You won't regret it ‍

Went here in a group of 9 on a Saturday night and it was empty. We were quickly seated and rushed to order at 9:45 pm even though the place closes at 11:30 pm.

We ordered a few things and I'll explain in detail how bad most of them were.
1) we tried ordering chai and they straight up denied us and told it wasn't available, reasons were not given for the denial.

2) we ordered papads and they came out halfway uncooked as they didn't even bother cooking it for another minute or making sure they're serving something fully cooked.

3) we ordered panner makhanis and paneer jalfrezi. Makhani was mainly watery with paneer also being undercooked and jalfrezi did not have any veggies apart from two tiny pieces of bell pepper and uncooked paneer.

4) a lot of the naaan pieces were undercooked and garlic naan had no pieces of garlic in it.

We also ordered dal shorba, rice, chicken makhani those were all okay but none of them I would recommend.

Amazing food and great ambiance....

Gulab jamoon was complimentary but from next time I'm not gonna miss it as it was so yummy... Vindaloo was very nice cooked and tasted so good... Tikka masala tasted like home cooked food.... They had amazing mango lassi and service was exceptional....

We got takeout from North India Restaurant, and it was mostly great! We enjoyed the Chicken Tikka Masala, a tasty dish with boneless white meat in herbs, spices, and tomatoes, paired with Garlic Naan.

The best part was the Rogan Josh - a lamb curry with a rich garlic, ginger, and onion sauce made with fresh Californian lamb. It was flavorful and had just the right amount of spice.

But the Chicken Tikka Masala, even though we asked for it spicy, wasn't as flavorful as we hoped. The chicken was a bit dry, too.

I have been to North India restaurant for lunch buffet couple of years back before Covid.

Today we had gone for dinner:
1. We reached around 30 minutes from closing time and they were kind enough to get us seated and take our order.

2. The place was pretty empty and one thing to notice is loud bollywood punjabi music plays there and normally I dont mind loud music but I had to make a phone call and it was impossible to make or receive call while in the restaurant.

3. We ordered Butter Naan, Butter Chapati, Mango Lassi and Malai Kofta

4. Butter Naan and Mango Lassi were good and standard. Chapati was really wheat roti/naan like u get but I was expecting Phulka Roti so its my fault. The Malai Kofta gravy had excess salt and it did not look freshly made.

5. They also gave us Onion Lemon and Mirchi without charging us which I truly appreciate.

6. I did give them feedback and they were receptive which is what I like because mistakes can always be made but accepting and improving the quality and service is ownership of the restaurant.

7. I am taking away 1 star for excess
salt and 1 star for main dish Malai Kofta was not hot enough.

8. Rest I feel this is a good restaurant with heart in right place and I am sure they will hear the feedback and improve.

Found this place while looking for somewhere close by to a party I was going to. Stopped in for dinner while waiting for my friend who was running late. Ordered regular naan and mild lamb Madras which was really tender and had a lovely flavour. My friend ordered chicken tikka masala which was dry and hard. We took the leftovers in two packages and gave them each to homeless men who appreciated the food.

Dinner was very reasonably priced because we used the Yelp check-in coupon!

Some seats could do with updating the upholstery - especially the bench that had an outlet beside it! I used a battery pack but it would have been perfect for powering up before hitting up a party at the Minna Gallery.

I love this spot. I got the Tikki Masala, rice, and garlic naan. Decently priced and super tasty! The interior is also really pretty. A very nice 'date vibe' restaurant!

Stumbled upon this restaurant as it was a late in the evening on a Sunday. I called to make sure they had a bar and served alcohol, the owner said yes please come in.
We started a few appetizers and the mix tandoori grill. It was delicious and the nan was baked to perfection.
The owner was attentive, hospitable and made our dining experience memorable. I would highly recommend if you are looking for quality Indian food. They also played Bollywood music so you get a nice cultural experience.

This is a great Indian restaurant in downtown SF. Authentic food and it's not super greasy or spicy. I tried their chicken Korma and saag paneer, both the entrees were delicious . They also have a yelp check in offer of 50% off on the 2nd entree after 3 pm which is nice :) Would definitely recommend this place.
