Can Thomas ignite Connecticut to 2-0?
For Connecticut to remain undefeated, they’ll have to take care of home court, which begins with Alyssa Thomas. She registered a triple-double in the season opener, helping the Sun win against the Indiana Fever.

If they can stay dominant on the boards and get another performance where multiple players score in double figures, they should be looking at a 2-0 start to the season.
For Washington to earn their first win, they’ll need a performance similar to the one they displayed in their season opener against the New York Liberty. That game resulted in a five-point defeat, but the Mystics played well and stayed in contention against one of the best teams in the league. That means Brittney Sykes needs to be an elite perimeter defender, and Ariel Atkins needs to continue putting the basketball into the hoop.
Can Seattle avenge season opening loss?
The Lynx-Storm game features two top teams in what is likely the best game on Friday night. Both teams are considered top teams based on our power rankings and have multiple All-Star caliber players on each side.
It also is a rematch of the season opener, where Minnesota dominated, beating the Storm, 83-70. Minnesota scored an efficient 45 percent from the field and converted seven 3-pointers, while Seattle only made one from deep. The result was a surprise but not a shock, as the Lynx have a lot of chemistry and the Storm have to figure out how to jell with new stars Nneka Ogwumike and Skylar Diggins-Smith.
