- 2. WHAT IS RESEARCH DESIGN ? Research design is the Framework/ Blueprint/ Sketch/Layout plan of research methods and techniques chosen by a researcher. The design allows researchers to hone in on research methods that are suitable for the subject matter and set up their studies up for success.

Reliability: Your design should be able to reach the expected results if your design is reliable. Validity: The researcher in gauging results according to the objective of the research. The questionnaire developed from this design will then be valid. Generalization: The outcome of your design should apply to a population and not just a restricted sample.

- 7. Exploratory Research Design exploratory research method are also termed as formulative research studied. Exploratory research design is conducted for a research problem when the researcher has no past data or only a few studies for reference. Sometimes this research is informal and unstructured. It serves as a tool for initial research that provides a hypothetical or theoretical idea of the research problem.
- 9. Descriptive Research Design Descriptive research is used to describe characteristics of a population or phenomenon being studied. It does not answer questions about how/when/why the characteristics occurred. Rather it addresses the "what" question (what are the characteristics of the population or situation being studied?) The characteristics used to describe the situation or population are usually some kind of categorical scheme also known as descriptive categories.
- 11. Experimental Research Design Experimental research design establishes a relationship between the cause and effect of a situation. It is a causal design where one observes the impact caused by the independent variable on the dependent variable. For example: The researcher randomly assigns participants to different conditions, measures the variables of interest and tries to control for confounding variables. Therefore, experiments are often highly fixed even before the data collection starts.
- 13. Case Study Basically, a case study is an in depth study of a particular situation rather than a sweeping statistical survey. It is a method used to narrow down a very broad field of research into one easily researchable topic. A case study is a research strategy and an empirical inquiry that investigates a phenomenon within its real-life context. Case studies are based on an in-depth investigation of a single individual, group or event to explore the causes of underlying principles.
