Groundwater quality of south India is depending on climate condition and bedrock geology but may also be impacted by pollution, particularly from industrial sources and agricultural activity. In the current study, 15 groundwater samples were collected from different locations in the Kinathukkadavu Taluk, Coimbatore to assess water quality for drinking as well as for irrigation purpose by analyzing the major cations (Ca2+, Mg2+, Na+ and K+) and anions (Cl-, NO3-, SO42- and F-) besides some physical and chemical parameters (pH, total hardness, electrical conductivity and total alkalinity). Statistical analysis like correlation, R- mode factor and cluster analysis were performed for demarcate the association of hydro geochemical parameters. Also groundwater quality mapping was developed using geographic information system.

deposition of dust and salt by wind, by the natural leaching of

environment that can alter the physical and chemical
composition of water. Declining water quality has become a
global issue of concern as human populations griesrow, industrial
and agricultural activities expand, and climate change threatens

This document presents a study on the effects of potential leachate leakage from a biopharmaceutical waste landfill in Chikkathaguru, Bangalore, India. The study aims to examine the impact on physical and chemical properties of groundwater, determine the extent of contamination, and compare water quality to standards. Samples were taken from 8 groundwater locations and tested for various parameters. Results showed that most parameters exceeded permissible limits, including total hardness, TDS, chloride, phosphate and iron. The water was also acidic with a pH below standard limits. The study concludes the landfill is contaminating the surrounding groundwater.

Impact on Aquatic Environment for Water Pollution in the Vahirab Rivertheijes
Water is a valued natural resource for the existence of all living organisms. Vahirab river is the prominent & important rivers for vital source of water from Jessore to Khulna. The prime reason of deterioration and pollution of the river water quality by effluents discharged from industries, municipal sewage, household wastes, clinical wastes and oils. The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of this wastewater on the river and thus to provide an updated report on the state of water quality of river Vahirab. The water sample were collected from different areas in the river Vahirab and analyzed for physico-chemical parameters and fresh water elements in the month of July, 2013 to November, 2013. The values of temperature, turbidity, pH, chloride, hardness, DO, BOD, COD, Fe, As, Pb, Cd and Cr in the river water were measured. During study period the temperature, turbidity, pH, hardness, chloride, DO, BOD and COD were found to be 280C to 31.50C, 37 to 947 NTU, 7.2 to 8.01, 92 to 140 ppm, 9 to 34 ppm, 122 to 5.51 mg/L, 0.22 to 5.79 mg/L and 3.80 to 10.80 mg/L respectively. The concentration of Fe, Pb, As, Cd and Cr were found to be 0.10 to 2.60 ppm, 0.004 to 0.025 ppm, 0.001 to 0.004 ppm, 0.00015 to 0.0094 ppm and 0.001 to 0.006 ppm respectively. From the results of investigation, it was observed that the values of pH, Cl- , hardness, As, Pb, Cd and Cr were within standard limit but the values of temperature, turbidity, DO, BOD, COD and Fe were not within acceptable limit as recommended by WHO and BDS guidelines. The results obtained from this investigation will help the people of the research area to be conscious for using the water in the Vahirab river.

Hydrochemistry of groundwater with special reference to arsenic in Lakhimpur ...IOSR Journals
The present study aims to understand the severity of Arsenic contamination along with the hydrochemistry of ground water in Lakhimpur Kheri, one of the largest districts in Uttar Pradesh, India. Ground water samples collected from 102 handpumps from 15 blocks were analyzed for physicochemical parameters and Arsenic. The groundwater quality data were analysed statistically. The characteristic features of groundwater indicated the presence of As (0- 0.224 mg/L), Fe (0.011-8.634mg/L), Na+ (2.84-62.12 mg/L), K+ (1.21-51.20 mg/L), Ca2+ (6-102mg/L), Mg2+ (10-126), Cl- (2.19-133.96 mg/L), SO42- (1-269.92 mg/L), NO3- (0.11-2.61 mg/L) and HCO3- (122-549 mg/L). The pH of the groundwater was found to be neutral to slightly alkaline (6.88-8.45) with high EC (471-1569 μS/cm) and TDS (289-1042 mg/L). Of the total samples analysed, 41.18% contained As > 10μg/L, 13.73% contained As < 10μg/L, while in the rest of the samples As was found to be below detectable limit. Severe As contamination was reported mainly in six blocks of the study area- Pallia, Nighasan, Dhawahara, Ramia Beher, Isanagar and Nakaha. The highly contaminated block was Pallia where all the samples contained As above permissible limit. However, maximum As concentration (0.224 mg/L) was reported from a deep well handpump of village Dubha from Nighasan block. Both Shallow and deep bore handpumps were analysed to study the distribution pattern of As with depth. No systematic relationship was found. Arsenic showed insignificant correlation with EC, TDS, TH, Ca2+, Mg2+, Na+, K+, HCO3-, NO3- Cl- and SO42- but poor correlation with Fe (r2 = 0.391) and pH (r2 = 0.018). Factor analysis was applied to reveal the processes controlling the hydrochemistry of groundwater and to understand the factors responsible for the release of As in groundwater of the study area. Extensive study in the affected areas advocates that the leaching of Arsenic in underground water is controlled by the magnitude of oxidizing environmental conditions created in the affected zones where As (III) oxidized to As (V) is introduced in the aquifers and gets adsorbed on iron rich grains.

The study assessed groundwater pollution potential in and around Ranipet, Vellore District, Tamil Nadu. 35 groundwater samples were collected from bore wells and dug wells in July 2012 and analyzed. Several parameters such as pH, TDS, hardness, calcium, magnesium, sulfate, chloride, fluoride and nitrate exceeded permissible limits for drinking water. The high values are likely due to discharge of untreated effluents from over 240 tanneries and other industries in the area into nearby water bodies, contaminating groundwater. Long-term pollution of groundwater in the area has rendered it unsuitable for drinking and domestic use for local communities. The document analyzes physicochemical properties and heavy metal concentrations of surface and underground water samples from iron mining areas in Kogi State, Nigeria. Water samples were collected during dry and rainy seasons from 7 locations. Results found pH to be weakly acidic in dry season and weakly alkaline in rainy season. Electrical conductivity, total dissolved solids, alkalinity and hardness fell within recommended limits. Concentrations of heavy metals like lead, cadmium and chromium were higher than guidelines in some samples, indicating pollution from mining activities. Overall, the study assessed water quality in the mining region and found evidence of toxic metal contamination from mining impacts.

Percolating water passing through waste becomes contaminated and will have dissolved soluble organic and inorganic compounds as well as suspended particles. Also the pore fluid of the waste is often released and mixes with this water. The entire contaminated fluid is called leachate. There are many factors that affect leachate production like annual precipitation, runoff, infiltration, evaporation, transpiration, and freezing, mean ambient temperature, waste composition, waste density, initial moisture content, and depth of the waste fill. The production of leachate reduces when a landfill is closed. The decomposition of waste in presence of water can be separated into two different phases of degradation viz., initial aerobic and subsequent anaerobic. Generally, the leachate undergoes natural chemical changes over time that reduces its toxicity. Some of the soluble contaminants enrich the water table, or the saturated zone. Some of remaining molecules naturally adsorbed to the clay liner particles. The paper discusses the characteristics of leachate generated from municipal solid waste landfill and its effect on surrounding water bodies near Mavallipura landfill area in Bangalore. Two samples of water from the nearby pond and well were collected from downstream of Mavallipura landfill site. Physico-chemical characterization of leachate has shown that the leachate contains high concentrations of organic and inorganic constituents beyond the permissible limits. While the heavy metals concentration was in traces as the waste is dumped in the landfill is mainly domestic in nature. The pH of the leachate is marginally alkaline as the pH is 7.4. The results also showed that the highest metal concentration that exists in the leachate was Iron which is about of 11.16 ppm. BOD5 and COD of the leachate are 1500 mg/l and 10400 mg/l, respectively. The leachate characteristics indicate favorable growth of algae in natural water contaminated with leachate with the alkaline condition and with the presence of magnesium as nutrient, which has been confirmed in the nearby surface pond. Knowledge of leachate quality will be useful in planning and providing remedial measures to protect surface and ground water quality in the area.

The present study was done to ascertain the level biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) of Marlimund Lake situated in Ooty how it is related with the other parameters such as water temperature, dissolved oxygen, phosphate, sulfate, iron, and free ammonia. Four sampling sites were selected and studied over the period of 13 months from February 2016 to February 2017. The results were computed by best model fits applied for calculation using Curve Expert Version 4.2. The water temperature ranged from 8.1°C to 18.7°C, dissolved oxygen 3.468–6.976 mg/l, phosphate 0.1–1.92 mg/l, sulfate 1–18 mg/l, free ammonia 0.12–6.01 mg/l, and BOD 2.178–5.040 mg/l. BOD was found to be significantly related to dissolved oxygen (r = 0.5690291) by 4th degree polynomial fit, phosphate (r = 0.7095253) by rational function fit and free ammonia (r = 0.7395016) by MMF model fit, respectively. Sulfate was found to be nonsignificant (r = 0.2565396) by geometric fit model, and water temperature (r =0.4595060) shows a sinusoidal fit.
A comparative study of general water quality has been

Water quality assessment based on physiochemical investigation along wit h heavy metal concentration in water and sediments is presented. INFLUENCE OF LEACHATE MIGRATION ON GROUND WATER QUALITY Dr. Naveen BP
In this paper, the concept of leachate pollution index, a tool for quantifying the leachate pollution potential and water quality index for surrounding water bodies of Mavallipura landfill site in Bangalore has been applied. It has been found that the leachate generated from the Mavallipura landfill site has high contamination potential to the surrounding water bodies. The results revealed that quality of ground water resources in Mavallipura landfill is deteriorating largely, as a result of the poor practice of solid waste management. Hence, an effective remedial plan needs to be prepared for the sustainable water quality maintenance of the area.
Extending the longevity, is a significant job to be accomplished by these sensor networks. The traditional routing protocols could not be applied here, due to its nodes powered by batteries. Nodes are often clustered in to non-overlapping clusters, so as to provide energy efficiency. A concise overview on clustering processes, within wireless sensor networks is given in this paper. But it is difficult to replace the deceased batteries of the sensor nodes. A distinctive sensor node consumes much of its energy during wireless communication. This research work suggests the development of a hierarchical distributed clustering mechanism, which gives improved performance over the existing clustering algorithm LEACH. The two hiding concepts behind the proposed scheme are the hierarchical distributed clustering mechanism and the concept of threshold. Energy utilization is significantly reduced, thereby greatly prolonging the lifetime of the sensor nodes.
Wind energy is playing a critical role in the establishment of an environmentally sustainable low carbon economy. This paper presents an overview of wind turbine generator technologies and compares their advantages and drawbacks used for wind energy utilization. Traditionally, DC machines, synchronous machines and squirrel-cage induction machines have been used for small scale power generation. For medium and large wind turbines (WTs), the doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) is currently the dominant technology while permanent magnet (PM), switched reluctance and high temperature superconducting generators are all extensively researched and developed over the years. In this paper, the topologies and features of these machines are discussed with special attention given to their practical considerations involved in the design, control and operation. It is hoped that this paper provides quick reference guidelines for developing wind turbine generation systems.

Every cluster comprise of a leader which is known as cluster head. The cluster head will be chosen by the sensor nodes in the individual cluster or be pre-assigned by the user. The main advantages of clustering are the transmission of aggregated data to the base station, offers scalability for huge number of nodes and trims down energy consumption. Fundamentally, clustering could be classified into centralized clustering, distributed clustering and hybrid clustering. In centralized clustering, the cluster head is fixed. The rest of the nodes in the cluster act as member nodes. In distributed clustering, the cluster head is not fixed. The cluster head keeps on shifting form node to node within the cluster on the basis of some parameters. Hybrid clustering is the combination of both centralized clustering and distributed clustering mechanisms. This paper gives a brief overview on clustering process in wireless sensor networks. A research on the well evaluated distributed clustering algorithm Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy (LEACH) and its followers are portrayed artistically. To overcome the drawbacks of these existing algorithms a hybrid distributed clustering model has been proposed for attaining energy efficiency to a larger scale.

In wireless sensor network energy cutback is considered as a principle intensive challenge which is studied largely in the Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) literature. Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are pertinent in numerous arenas where WSNs may be used for sensing, ciphering, and communication elements that give a user or administrator the ability to instrument, observe, and retort to events and phenomena in a specific environment. But sensor devices are resource curbed, positioned in an open and unattended environment, different types of attacks and conventional techniques against these attacks are not desirable due to the resource constrained nature of these kinds of networks. An energy-balanced routing method based on forward-aware factor (FAF-EBRM) in which the next-hop node is elected according to the awareness of link weight and forward energy density. FAF-EBRM is compared with Ladder Diffusion Algorithm, which balances the energy utilization, sustain the function era and guarantees high QoS of WSN. The FAF-EBRM is proposed with Secure Routing Layer (SRL) Protocol which ensures that the secure data transmission is achieved without releasing private sensor readings and without introducing significant overhead on the battery-limited sensors.
The design and optimization of rotary tillage tool on the basis of simulation and finite element method is done by using ANSYS software. The different rotary tillage tool parts are geometrically constrained with preparation of solid model of blades and simulation has been done with actual field performance rating parameters along with boundary conditions. The proposed work results are identifying sufficient tolerance in changing the material such as EN 8 steel and EN 24 steel. The dimensions of rotavator blade sections and to rise the life cycle of the blades for a reliable strength. The present geometry working model with tillage blade is analysed to new design change constraints of its geometry for the maximum weed removal efficiency by presenting its analysis results from the field performance.
In recent electronic circuits pose a reliability threat, a lot of applications are necessary to use protection against soft errors, there is no exceptions in the field of communications and signal processing systems. For several applications is to use Algorithmic Based Fault Tolerant techniques (ABFT) that try to expand the algorithmic properties to detect and correct the errors. The ABFT technique is well suitable for communications and signal processing applications. One of the examples is Fast Fourier Transforms that are a input building block in various systems. Some protection schemes are proposed. Among this, probably the use of the Parseval or sum of squares check is most broadly known. In modern communication systems are impressively use several blocks that blocks are operated in parallel. This type of technique is well suitable for FFTs protection. Consequently two enhanced protection schemes that merge the use of error correction codes and Parseval checks are proposed. The proposed technique to reduce the implementation cost of protection.

Water quality index study showed that drinking water in Amer (221.58,277.70), Lalawas (362.74,396.67), Jaisinghpura area (286.00,273.78) were found to be highly contaminated due to high value of total dissolved solids, electrical conductance, total hardness, chloride, nitrate and sodium.Saipura (122.52, 131.00), Naila (120.25, 239.86), Galta (160.9, 204.1) were found to be moderately contaminated for both monsoons. People dependent on this water may prone to health hazard. Therefore some effective measures are urgently required to enhance the quality of water in these areas.

This study analyzed water quality parameters of the Tigris River as it passes through Baghdad, Iraq. Water samples were taken from 8 sites over 4 seasons. Physical measurements included temperature, pH, conductivity, and turbidity. Chemical analyses determined COD, anions, cations, total dissolved solids, hardness, chlorides, sulfates, nitrates, sodium, calcium, magnesium, and heavy metals. Results found several parameters exceeded WHO standards, indicating pollution from industrial wastes. Correlation analysis revealed relationships between water quality parameters and likely pollution sources. Overall, the study assessed the effects of industrial waste on Tigris water quality through comprehensive physical and chemical analysis of samples from different seasons.

Nine ground water samples were collected from different places of Inkollu mandal of Prakasam district. The quality analysis has been made through the pH, EC, TDS, Total Hardness, Sodium, Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium, Chloride, Sulphate, Nitrate, Fluoride and Iron. By observing the results, it was shown that the parameters from the water samples were compared with WHO (World Health Organization) and BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards), USPH (United state Public health ) for ground water .The results revealed that some parameters were in high concentration and quality of the potable water has deteriorated to a large extent at some sampling locations.

In India, the natural disasters, especially the Tsunami in 2004 having exposed our unpreparedness, variability, diverse scientific, engineering, financial and also social processes. Vedaranyamtalukof Nagapattinam coastal region of Tamilnadu, India,was severely affected by Tsunami-2004. Due to its unique geological nature and climate conditions, the quality of soil and water resources was subjected to natural and synthetic changes. The recent efforts of prawn culture and saltpan in these areas also affect the natural resources. This study has revealed the present scenario of soil and water resources by analyzing their chemical parameters in the Tsunami affected areas after ten years of Tsunami-2004. For this study, soil samples (less than 30cm depth from land surface) and groundwater samples (from existing hand/bore pumps) were collected in the study area. It was observed from the analysis that the pH of soil was improved well and EC was lowered significantly except few places. Regarding the available N, P, K of soil, N was low, P and Kwere low to medium range. Further thepH,DO, Turbidity, Hardness,Cl and Mgof groundwater were within the permissible limit;EC and TDS were slight to moderate range for irrigation and drinking.The SAR is within the maximum allowable limit which inferred that groundwater can be used for irrigation without any risk.Thisspatial-temporal variability of soil and water parameters were mapped in GIS environment (Surfer ver. 9) and compared with pretsunami-2004 as well as ground truth scenario. Keeping these results, the soil is suitable for agriculture production. The natural flash flood has helped to reduce contamination of soil and water due to Tsunami-2004. However,due to alkaline in nature the quality of groundwater is not fit for drinking in some places but suitable for irrigation. Among the affected villages, Vedaranyam village has worst quality. This study also recommends suitable management strategies for sustainable development.

Physico-chemical parameters of River Oluwa water in Agbabu, Nigeria were investigated to determine its quality characteristics and establish seasonal effects on the water. Water from the river was collected at five different points in dry season (March, 2008 and 2009) and rainy season (July, 2008 and 2009). Insitu parameters (pH, EC and Turbidity) were measured using Horiba Water Checker Model U-10 while TDS was by Lovibond CM – 21 Tintometer. Subsequently in the Laboratory, Na+ and K+ were determined using flame photometric methods while Ca2+, Mg2+, HCO3-, SO42-, Cl-, PO42- and NO3- were determined by wet analysis. River Oluwa water was alkaline with average pH of 7.41 and 7.53 in dry and rainy seasons respectively. Electrical conductivity (EC) was high during dry season (av. 630.44 µS/cm), but low in the rainy season (av. 317.58 µS/cm) due to long residence time in dry season allowing more water-rock interaction. Turbidity’s average values of 0.14 NTU and 2.29 NTU in dry and rainy seasons respectively suggested moderate pollution with particulate matter. The order of average cations concentrations in the dry and rainy seasons was Ca2+ > K+ > Na+ > Mg2+ while that of the anions was HCO3- > Cl- >SO42- > NO3-. The ions concentrations though lower in rainy season, Ca2+-HCO3- water was dominant in both seasons. Quality evaluation for irrigation revealed that the water was suitable for all irrigation purposes. River Oluwa water was soft, low mineralized, chemically potable, suitable for irrigation but with lower ionic concentrations in rainy season.

This study was carried out seasonally to determine some nutrient load concentrations in the Atikhisar Dam Lake, which provides drinking water to the city center of Çanakkale and also serves the purpose of protection from floods. For this purpose, water samples were taken from 3 sampling points in Atikhisar Dam Lake. 5 parameters nitrate, nitrite, ammonium, phosphate and suspended solids were examined in the water samples taken. At the end of the study, it is understood that the dam has a good water quality and there is no significant pollution problem. To ensure the sustainability of water resources, dam waters, which contain a significant part of natural resources, should be monitored regularly. Flood is one of the natural disaster known to be part of the earth biophysical processes, which its occurrence can be devastating; due to mostly anthropogenic activities and climatological factors. The aim of the research is to identify and map the extent at which the impact of flood due to intense rainfall and rise in water in the study area using geospatial techniques and the specific objectives are to carry out terrain analysis of the study area and to generate flood indicator maps of the study area. The study analyzed rain fall data;, the drainage system and Shuttle Radar Topographic Mission (SRTM 30m) of the area. ArcGIS 10.8 was to modelled and to generate the contributing factors map of the study area. The drainage system was generated through on-screen digitization of topographic map of scale 1:50,000 of Ondo South-West. The mean annual rainfall of Lagos State was generated in the ArcGIS environment from the rainfall data through spatial analysis tool. The SRTM was used in terrain analysis of the study area. The results generated showed the lowest mean annual rain fall of the area 1,700mm and the highest mean annual rain fall was 2,440mm. Digital elevation model (DEM), slope, flow direction were generated from the SRTM. Drainage density of the area was generated using the drainage system. The slope map of the entire area which are classified into five slope classes of very high (14%-48.5%) to high (7.6%-13.9%) to moderately high (4.2%-7.6%) to low (1.5%-4.2%) and very low (0. % - 1.2%).

Smart irrigation system helps in monitoring the moisture level which majorly affects plant growth besides other factors such as sunlight, fertility of the soil, etc. The digital planting pot has been designed in a way that it effectively incorporates the idea of smart irrigation. Arduino Uno R3 has been used as the main chip in this project along with a few other components like a soil moisture sensor, relay, and water pump. This project requires coding to synchronize all the components, and function properly. A required test has been carried out to review the functioning of the mechanism. The project was tested by once using the soil with enough moisture in the pot and then the soil with the least moisture. Both times, it worked exactly how it was supposed to function. When the soil with the least moisture was tested, there was a clear indication of a low level of moisture and accordingly, the water pump got triggered to water the plant, and when the soil with enough moisture was tested, there was again the clear indication of the correct level of moisture and the water pump was inactive. All the readings which were displayed on the LCD were checked back and forth during the project. The outcomes were the same as expected. Hence, it shows that every component in this project is actively functioning and the whole project is effectively designed.

A new convenient and efficient route for the synthesis of two very important hydroxo-bridged stepped-cubane copper complexes viz: [Cu4(bpy)4Cl2(OH)4]Cl2.6H2O (1) and [Cu4(phen)4Cl2(OH)4]Cl2.6H2O (2) have been obtained. This synthetic route from the mononuclear CubpyCl2 complex is easier, more reproducible and afforded the complex in a much higher yield than the other two previously reported procedures which were equally serendipitously discovered. The purity and formation of the complexes were confirmed with elemental (C,H,N) analysis and the details of the UV-Vis, Fourier transform infrared, electrospray ionization mass spectra of both complexes and the single crystal X-ray crystallography of 1 are presented and discussed. X-ray crystallography confirms the absolute structure of the complexes. The complexes were formed via the connection of four copper atoms to four hydroxide bridging ligands and four bipyridyl ligands with two chloride ligands. There are two coordinate environments around two pairs of copper atoms (CuN2ClO2 and CuN2O3) and each copper atom is pentacoordinate with square pyramidal geometry.

The use of jackfruit bulbs and its parts has also been reported since ancient times for their therapeutic qualities. Myogenic differentiation requires to be exactly explored for the effective treatment of fracture. The speed of healing is affected by skeletal muscle, linked to activation of specific myogenic transcription factors during the repair process. In previous study, we discovered that psoralen enhanced differentiation of osteoblast in primary mouse. In the current study, we show that psoralen stimulates myogenic differentiation through the secretion of factors to hone the quality of repair in fractured mice. 3-month old mice were treated with corn oil or psoralen followed by a tibial fracture surgery. Fractures were tested 7, 14, and 21 days respectively later by histology and images observation. Skeletal muscles including soleus muscle and posterior tibial muscle around the damaged bone were collected for quantitative real-time PCR, HE staining, as well as western blot. Daily treatment with psoralen at seven, fourteen days or twenty-one days improves protein or mRNA levels responsible for the whole myogenic differentiation process, makes the muscle fibers more tightly aligned, and promotes callus formation and development. This data shows that high levels of myogenic transcription factors in the process of fracture healing in mice foster the repair of damaged muscles, and indicates a pharmacological approach that targets myogenic differentiation to improve fracture repair. This also reflects the academic thought of "paying equal attention to both muscles and bones" in the prevention and treatment of fracture healing.
The current pandemic has generated the search for new reliable and economic alternatives for the detection of SARS-CoV-2, which produces the COVID-19 disease, one of the recommendations by the World Health Organization, is the detection of the virus by RT-qPCR methods from upper respiratory tract samples. The discomfort of the pharyngeal nasopharyngeal swab described by patients, the requirement of trained personnel, and the generation of aerosols, are factors that increase the risk of infections in this type of intake. It is known that the main means of transmission of SARS-CoV-2 is through aerosols or small droplets, which is why saliva is important as a relevant means of detecting COVID-19. In this study, a modified method based on SARS-CoV-2 RNA release from saliva is described, avoiding the isolation and purification of the genetic material and its quantification of viral copies; the results are compared with paired pharyngeal/nasopharyngeal swab samples (EF/EN). Results showed good agreement in saliva samples compared to EF/EN samples. On average, a sensitivity for virus detection of 80% was demonstrated in saliva samples competing with EF/EN samples. The use of saliva is a reliable alternative for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 by means of RT-PCR in the first days of infection, having important advantages over the conventional method. Saliva still needs to be studied completely to evaluate the detection capacity of the SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid, however, the described process is viable, due to the decrease in materials and supplies, process times, the increment in the sampling and improvement of laboratory performance.
A recent study establishes that since 1970, there has been an ecological gap between human needs and the planet's resources, with annual resource demand exceeding the bio-productivity of the planet. Specifically, humanity utilises equivalent of 1.75 earths to produce the ecological resources used, with half of this attributable to food consumption. The present work therefore seeks to provide an empirically-based insight into the environmental sustainability of the EF of food consumption in Ijebu Ode. A descriptive cross-sectional approach was used, and primary data were collected from 400 systemically sampled households via structured questionnaires and analysed descriptively using Microsoft Excel and inferentially using mathematical models for calculating ecological footprints. Findings revealed that the household EF of food consumption in Ijebu Ode is 0.05gha per capita, with the footprint of cereal consumption (0.17gha; 37%) taking the major share, followed by meat with a footprint of 0.11gha (23.9%). As a result, it was concluded that Ijebu Ode has sustainable food consumption, which is necessary for its environmental sustainability. However, the sustenance of the former requires creating awareness of the need for sustainable consumption and prioritisation of integrated and population-wide policies and food intervention initiatives to encourage attitudinal change in favour of sustainable food consumption while fostering sustainable food production strategies amidst current environmental realities.

Metal-organic molybdenum complexes were synthesized by the hydrothermal method using ammonium heptamolybdate as the metallic source, and as the organic ligand terephthalic acid (BDC) or bis(2-hydroxyethyl) terephthalate (BHET), obtained via glycolysis of poly(ethylene)terephthalate (PET). The BDC-Mo and BHET-Mo complexes were characterized by XRD, N2 physisorption, TGA, ATR-FTIR, SEM, XPS and their in vitro biocompatibility was tested by porcine fibroblasts viability. The results show that molybdates (MoO4-2) are coordinated to the carbonyl functional groups of BDC and BHET by urea bonding (-NH-CO-NH-) which is related to their high biocompatibility and high thermal stability. These organic molybdate complexes possess rectangular prism particles made up of rods arrays characteristics of molybdenum oxides (MoO3). The organic complexes BDC-Mo and BHET-Mo do not show to be cytotoxic for porcine dermal fibroblasts growing on their surface for up to 48 h of culture.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to find out the influence of low intensity aerobic training on the vo2 max in 11 to 14 years school girls in Hyderabad district. Methodology: The research scholar has randomly selected thirty (N=30) high school girls were selected as subjects and their age ranged between 11 to 14 years. The subjects were divided into two equal groups, each group consist of 15 total 30. Group one acted as experimental group (EG) and group two acted as control group (CG). The dependent variable vo2 max was selected and it is measured by manual test. Statistical Tool: The statistical tool paired sample ‘t’ test was used for analysing of the data and the obtained ‘t’ ratio was tested for significance at 0.05 level of confidence. Results: The analysis of the data revealed that there was a significant improvement on vo2 max by the application of low intensity aerobic.
Hybrid rice has the potential to outperform existing inbred rice and was said to have the potential to produce 14-20 % more yield. In response, Malaysia Government has introduced its very own first Hybrid Rice Variety knew as Kadaria 1 developed by MARDI. This is in line with one of the strategies outlined in Dasar Agromakanan Negara (DAN) 2011-2020 as an approach to increasing rice productivity within Malaysia. The next step would be developing our hybrid seed rice production system. Therefore, an experiment to determine the planting ratio and planting distance between 0025A (A)-a hybrid with MR283 (R)-inbreed variety was carried out. Planting ratios studied in this study were 2:4, 2:6, 2:8, and 2:10 while planting distance was 14 x 30 cm, 16 x 30 cm, and 18 x 30 cm. Statistical analyses suggested that yield R, yield A, and panicle number A were significantly affected by planting ratios while yield A was significantly affected by an interaction between planting distance and planting ratios. Panicle number A performed significantly higher at planting ratios of 2:4 compared to 2:10. Yield R shows higher significant performance under ratio 2:6 compared to 2:4 and 2:8. Relatively, yield A performed the best under planting distance of 18 x 30 cm. Furthermore, under this particular planting distance, the planting ratio of 2:10 shows the highest significant figure while 2:8 exhibits statistical parity. Both yield R and yield A were significantly affected by planting ratios and have a significant positive association with each other. Therefore, the planting ratio of 2:10 should be the best since it contributed to significantly highest value for yield A while yield R under 2:10 shows statistical parity with 2:6 which was the highest significant value. In conclusion, the combination of 2:10 with a planting distance of 18 x 30 cm was the best since it shows best potential for both yields A and yield R

Cassava plays an important role in improving food security and reducing poverty in rural areas. Despite its importance, its production in Senegal remains low compared to other African countries. Nowadays, it is confronted with numerous constraints. It is in this context that a study was conducted on the cassava production system in the Thiès "cassava granary" region, with the objective of examining farmers' cultivation practices. It was conducted in eight communes located in the department of Tivaouane, some of which are located in the Niayes agro-ecological zone and others in the central-northern groundnut basin. Surveys were conducted among the largest cassava producers in these communes. Analysis of the results showed that cassava is only grown in the rainy season with the same cultivation practices that have been used for years. Of the five varieties listed by the President of the Senegalese Cassava Interprofession, only four are grown in the areas surveyed. The Terrasse (43%) and Kombo (36%) varieties are grown more by our respondents in the Niayes area. Soya (75%) and Wallet "Parydiey" (20% of our sample) dominate in the central-northern groundnut basin.
We are witnessing very demanding and stressful times in which we live, and an occupation that is particularly exposed to stress and different working conditions is the job of a nurse. Exposing themselves to everyday challenges and stressful situations, nurses reach a stage of great emotional and physical exhaustion, lethargy, dissatisfaction, and poorer work achievements, which we know as burnout. The aim of this paper was to determine whether there is and to what extent professional burnout is present in nurses and technicians working in nursing homes across Slovenia and Croatia. The paper is answering the questions of the extent of the burnout influenced by individual characteristics (age, education, years of service and work experience at the current workplace). The study involved a validated questionnaire “The Oldenburg Burnout Inventory (OLBI)” to measure professional burnout. Surveying of the nurses was conducted online at their home institutions. The results show that all respondents have a medium or high level of professional burnout, while no one has a low level or shows no signs of burnout. In terms of age, the group from 55-65 years of age had the highest relative level of burnout in the age group category. With regard to education, the highest burnout was measured in registered nurses.

1. INTRODUCTION
In India, groundwater as the only drinking water source for
most of the population (NIUA, 2005 Mahmood and Kundu,
2005 Phansalkar et al., 2005). Since, believed groundwater is
to be much clean and pollution free than surface water. But
groundwater can also contaminated naturally or numerous
types of human activities like industrial, commercial,
municipal and agricultural activities (Rivers et al., 1996; Kim
et al., 2004; Jalali, 2005; Srinivasamoorthy et al., 2009).
However, contamination of groundwater can result in poor
drinking water quality, high cleanup costs, loss of water
supply, force for alternative water source, and potential health
problem.
In addition, found that a wide variety of materials like
synthetic organic chemicals, hydrocarbons, inorganic cations
and anions, pathogens, and radionuclide in groundwater
(Fetter, 1999). In India around 80% of all diseases
are directly linked with poor water quality (Prasad, 1984;
Olajire and Imeokparia, 2001). On the other hand water
scarcity is becoming common in several part of the country,
particularly in arid and semiarid area. Also, in several states
like Rajasthan, Punjab, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and
Tamil Nadu were overdependence of groundwater resources
for domestic, irrigation and industry segments has resulted in
overexploitation of groundwater (Rodell et al., 2009 Garg
and Hassan, 2007).
2. STUDY AREA
Kinathukadavu Taluk is located in Coimbatore district and
lies between 10°43’ and 10°53’N latitude and 76° 50’ and 77°
10’ E longitude. It has salubrious climate because it is
bounded with Western Ghats and maximum and minimum
temperature various between 35°C and 18°C respectively.
The major activity is agricultural especially, this soil well
suitable for coconut plantation, which engage 60% of the
workforce of the study area. Rests of them are working in
Automobile industry, Textile industry and small scale
industry development corporation (SIDCO).

3. METHODOLOGY
Ground water samples were collected from 15 locations in the
Kinathukkadavu Taluk during the month of February 2015
shown in figure.1. From each station 2 liters of water sample
was collected in pre cleaned polyethylene bottles for physical
and chemical analysis and the samples were kept in ice box
and transported to laboratory, where they stored at 4ºC until
further analysis. The pH, EC, salinity and TDS were
measured in the field using digital water analysis kit. Chloride
concentration was analyzed using MOHR’s titration method.
Concentration of sodium and potassium were determined by
the flame photometric method. The turbidity analyzed by
using neophelometric method and total hardness determined
by the EDTA (APHA, 1998). Total alkalinity was also
determined by the general method (APHA, 1998) and
Phosphate was determined by the ammonium molybdate
method (APHA, 1998). The nitrate was estimated by the
brusine sulphate colorimetric method (APHA, 1998).
Descriptive statistics were carried out using the SPSS package
(Khan 2011). Spatial distributions of various geochemical
parameters were prepared by inverse distanced weighted
(IDW) method using Arc-GIS software (Lee et al. 2006).

Groundwater quality of south India is depending on climate condition and bedrock geology but may also be impacted by pollution, particularly from
industrial sources and agricultural activity. In the current study, 15 groundwater samples were collected from different locations in the
Kinathukkadavu Taluk, Coimbatore to assess water quality for drinking as well as for irrigation purpose by analyzing the major cations (Ca2+,
Mg2+, Na+ and K+) and anions (Cl-, NO3-, SO42- and F-) besides some physical and chemical parameters (pH, total hardness, electrical
conductivity and total alkalinity). Statistical analysis like correlation, R- mode factor and cluster analysis were performed for demarcate the
association of hydro geochemical parameters. Also groundwater quality mapping was developed using geographic information system.

4. RESULT AND DISCUSSION
Table 1 represents the minimum, maximum, mean and
standard deviation of physicochemical parameters
groundwater quality, Kinathukadavu Taluk such as pH, EC,

).
Hydrogen ion concentration is a very important indicator of
ground water quality and controlled by the amount of
dissolved CO2, carbonate and bicarbonate in groundwater
(Ghandour et al., 1985).
The range of permissible limits as per BIS for portable water
is 6.5 to 8.5. In the studied samples, the pH value ranged from
7.18 to 7.62 indicating that the groundwater was of alkaline
nature due to HCO3
-
form of dissolved carbonate (Nagarajan
et al. 2010).
The total amount of dissolved salts present in water can be
easily estimated by measuring the specific conductivity of
water is determined by means of portable organic water tests
and the permissible limit of electrical conductivity (EC) is
between 750-2250 mhos/ cm (IS: 10500, 1992).
The analyzed result shows that 80% of the samples have EC
within permissible limit and rest of the samples exceeds the
permissible limit. The excess amount of EC indicates excess
amount of TDS present in them.

) and organic matter present in the water and also
TDS originate from natural as well as anthropogenic activities
like industrial discharge and urban runoff. Figure 4. Has
shown that TDS value ranged from 157 to 2919 mg/L and the
highest TDS was found in Periyakalanthai Village. According
to Davis and DeWiest (1966), TDS is classified into four
different categories based on drinking suitability.
Table.1 shows that 20% of samples are desirable for drinking
water and 26.67% of the samples are within the permissible
limit for drinking and 53.33% of samples were useful for
irrigation purpose. Freeze and Cherry (1979) also classified
the TDS, based on brine, saline, brackish and fresh water
type. This classification shows about 46.67% of the
groundwater to be under freshwater condition and the
remaining samples as brackish water type. Water containing
high solids may cause laxative or constipation effects
(Kumaraswamy, 1999).

Turbidity is an expression of optical property of water and the
concentration depends on the presence of insoluble
substances like colloidal and fine particles (Manivaskam,
1986). The variations of turbidity with standard deviation of
fifteen sampling stations are given in table 1. It is observed
that, the sampling points 1 to 15 met the BIS (10 N.T.U.).

decomposition of organic matter. The acceptable limit of TA
is upto 200 mg/L for drinking water purpose (IS 10500,
1991). The TA for tested sample varies from 45-400 mg/L
(table 1). Nearly 73% of the samples are exceeded
permissible limit. Strong alkaline water has an objectionable
soda taste and cause excessive drying of skin. Hardness in
water is due to the presence of Ca2+
, Mg2+
and also cation

etc., (Taylor 1949).
The prescribed limit for hardness in drinking water ranges
from 75 to 115 mg/L and nearly 86% of analyzed samples are
exceeded the acceptable limit. Table1 shows the TH is in
range of 58 to 1110 mg/L. Excess hardness offer a scale
formation in kettles, water heaters and clog plumbing, are
composed mainly of CaCO3, Mg(OH)2, and CaSO4 (Hermann
Weingartner, 2006). Chloride content in studied sample has
found to be exceeds the permissible levels and indicates
33.33% of the samples above the acceptable limit.
Concentration above 250mg/L may have a detectable salty
taste if the Cl-
can from sodium chloride (Johnson et al.,
1999). Also high concentration of Cl-
is due to rock structures
because it’s widely distributed in all types of rocks. Soil
permeability and porosity has also key role in the increase of
Cl-
concentrations.

Nitrate is a good indicator for contamination by sewage
disposal, leaching of fertilizer and animal manure. The NO3
-
varied from maximum 100 mg/l at sampling station 10 to
minimum 4.0 mg/l at Kuthiraialampalayam sampling station

is considered comparatively non-toxic, a high

concentration in drinking water is an environmental
concern because it can harm infants by reducing the transport
oxygen in the blood. Sulphate occurs naturally in numerous
minerals and the acceptable limit of SO4
2-
in drinking water is
up to 200mg/L but only the sample number 10 has above the
acceptable limit.
Calcium contributes to the TH of water and the value of
groundwater samples ranged from 16 to 296 mg/l except
station 10, all other samples were within the permissible limits
(75-200 mg/L) for drinking purpose (BIS, 1988). The
important sources of Ca2+
in groundwater are rain water,
weathering of calcium silicate, minerals, irrigation, etc., and
also Ca2+
is essential for nervous system, cardiac function and
coagulation of blood (Khurshidet al. 1997). Magnesium
occurs commonly in the minerals of magnetite and dolomite
and the result has shown that Mg2+
varied from 89.0 mg/l to
5.0 mg/l. As per the standards up to 100mg/L is allowable
limit for Mg2+
for drinking purpose, in studied samples are
within the allowable limit. The fluoride content of water
samples ranged from 0.2 to 1.0 mg/L, showed within the
permissible limit. The acceptable limit of K+
in drinking water
is 250mg/L but nearly 73% of analyzed samples are
exceeding acceptable limit (IS 10500, 1992). Increasing K+
in
groundwater is due to agricultural activities and it cause
vomiting, diarrhoea, hyperkalaemia, shortness of breath and
heart failure.

Correlation studies promoting research and reduce the range
of uncertainty associated with decision making of among the
parameters (Joshi et al., 2009). Hence the attempt is made and
table 2 represents correlation among various physicochemical
parameters of groundwater. pH shows negative correlation
with all the analyzed parameters due to occurrence of rock
dissolution (Asif Mahmood et al., 2011). EC and TDS are
showing strong positive correlation (r>0.9) with TH, Ca, Mg,
Na, K, NO3 and F indicate that similar hydro-chemical
characteristics.
Factor analysis is very useful to interpret the groundwater
quality data and to understand specific hydro-geochemical
processes. Hence, varimax with Kaiser Normalization
rotated factor loading matrix was performed. In the current
analysis only two factors were found to be exceeding the
value one, they are only considered for analysis. In analysis
table3, it is inferred that the first two components together
account for 88.2% of the total variance in which the first
component accounts for more than 78% of the variance was
explained.
EC,TDS,Turbidity,TA,TH,Cl-,Mg2+,Na+,Ca2+,K+,NO3-,S
O42-and F-were the variables grouped under this factor. The
highest factor loading of EC and TDS is 0.991 indicating the
strong relationship between these two variables.
The enrichment of Na+ and Cl- ions in groundwater is due to
the interaction of water with rocks and secondly the

association of TDS with higher concentrations of Na+ and Cl-
ions (Pathak et al., 2008). Hence, the first component was
characterized by their natural geo chemical associations and
similar mobility in the groundwater environment (Rao et
al.2006 and Hem 1991). Infactor2, around 9.8% of the
variance explained by this factor under which pH grouped
alone.
Cluster analysis is also another data reduction method that is
used to classify entities with similar properties (Pathak et al.
2008). Through hierarchical cluster analysis (HCA), the
associations among the stations were obtained using Ward's
method with Euclidian distance as a similarity measure with
dendrogram plots.
The physicochemical parameter concentrations were used as
variables to show the spatial heterogeneity among the stations
as a result of sequence and their relationship in the level of
contamination.

There were three major groups of cluster obtained from the
sampling. Group I, which is further subdivided into two
subgroups, Ia and Ib, interprets in the physicochemical
composition and all the parameter lies within limit. Group II is
typically represented by the Ca2+, Mg2+, Cl-, PO43- and
NO3 ions and they are influenced by human interference and
extent of pollutants and agricultural activity. Sample number
10 comes under group III which shows tremendous changes in
the analyzed parameter of groundwater. The change in the
parameter is possibly due to the rock composition. Except the
Group III, other group are not polluted and fit for drinking

5. CONCLUSIONS
The present study of ground water samples in Kinathukadavu
Taluk shows that the water quality of the studied samples
were within the BIS limits except some samples. The
chemical composition of groundwater shows that pH and
fluoride for all the samples were within limit. Statistical
analysis the R-mode factor analysis has been done and
analyzed result shows that first two components together
account for 88.2% of the total variance and accounts for more
than 78% of the variance. EC, TDS, Turbidity, TA, TH, Cl-,
Mg2+, Na+, Ca2+, K+, NO3-, SO42-and F- variables were
grouped under this factor. The highest factor loading of EC
and TDS is 0.991 indicating the strong relationship between
these two variables. HCA shows three major groups of
cluster. Group I clustered interprets in the physicochemical
composition, and all the parameter lies within limit and Group
II is typically represented by the human interference and
extent of pollutant. GIS based spatial variation indicates that
northern east part of the study area have more ionic
concentration, which was found to be mainly due to industrial
establishment and over-exploitation of ground water.
