Encounter Olives Australia Pty Ltd (EOA) has been set up by olive growers to work together to develop export markets as domestic supply will exceed demand by 2010. EOA aims to obtain higher prices for growers by value-adding and targeting exclusive markets like Wholefoods in the US. EOA needs to raise $200,000 in initial funds, and will target a minimum $6.50 return per liter for growers within the first 12 months by securing a large, guaranteed supply of high quality extra virgin olive oil and finding customers.
