To build and test a prototype in just
five days to answering critical business
questions through design, prototyping,
and testing ideas with customers.

What are we trying to achieve with
Design Sprints?
● Quickly validate hypotheses and learn about your users’ behaviour and
preferences
● Transform existing pain-points in the customer journey into opportunities
● Educate team and stakeholders. Helping them understand what goes into
framing a problem, understanding users and designing a solution with a wider
understanding of your product ecosystem.
Design Sprint Methodology
The Design Sprint follows six phases: Understand, Define, Sketch, Decide,
Prototype, and Validate
Phase 1: Understand
In this phase, you will create a shared knowledge base
across all participants.

Phase 2: Define
In this phase, you will create a shared knowledge base
across all participants.
All Define Methods:
● Success Metrics & Signals
● Design Principles
● The Golden Path
● Assumptions Mapping
● Card Sorting

● Goals: Before you set your framework,
define product or feature goals
concerning user experience.
● Signals: Define proper goal signals that
will tell you, whether the goal is
accomplished.
● Metrics: The last stage involves
transforming signals into measurement
scales, which you can observe for some
time.
Phase 3: Sketch
In the Sketch phase, the Design Sprint team generates
and shares a board range of ideas as individuals.
All Sketch Methods:
● The Warm Up: Comparable Problem
● Crazy 8’s
● Crazy 8’s Sharing and Voting
● Solution Sketch
Crazy 8’s
1. Stimulate divergent thinking
2. Make 8 idea alternatives
3. Total 8 minutes, around 1 minute for each
4. You can choose to make doodles, writings, or
anything to transform your ideas.
Phase 4: Decide
In the Decide phase, the Design Sprint team finalizes the
direction or concept to be prototyped. Each participant
will share their Solution Sketch.

● Heatmap Voting
● Note and Vote
● Rumble or All-In-One
Phase 5: Prototype
In the Prototype phase, team will work together to create
a prototype of your concept. You will aim to create a
prototype that is just real enough to validate, and you will
do it really fast.

  • 4. Design Sprint To build and test a prototype in just five days to answering critical business questions through design, prototyping, and testing ideas with customers.
  • 5. Why? Shortcut the endless-debate cycle and compress months of time into a single week.
  • 6. What are we trying to achieve with Design Sprints? ● Quickly validate hypotheses and learn about your users’ behaviour and preferences ● Transform existing pain-points in the customer journey into opportunities ● Educate team and stakeholders. Helping them understand what goes into framing a problem, understanding users and designing a solution with a wider understanding of your product ecosystem.
  • 7. Design Sprint Methodology The Design Sprint follows six phases: Understand, Define, Sketch, Decide, Prototype, and Validate
  • 8. Phase 1: Understand In this phase, you will create a shared knowledge base across all participants. Cooontoh~ ● Goals: Before you set your framework, define product or feature goals concerning user experience. ● Signals: Define proper goal signals that will tell you, whether the goal is accomplished. ● Metrics: The last stage involves transforming signals into measurement scales, which you can observe for some time.
  • 17. Phase 3: Sketch In the Sketch phase, the Design Sprint team generates and shares a board range of ideas as individuals. All Sketch Methods: ● The Warm Up: Comparable Problem ● Crazy 8’s ● Crazy 8’s Sharing and Voting ● Solution Sketch
  • 18. Crazy 8’s 1. Stimulate divergent thinking 2. Make 8 idea alternatives 3. Total 8 minutes, around 1 minute for each 4. You can choose to make doodles, writings, or anything to transform your ideas.
  • 19. Phase 4: Decide In the Decide phase, the Design Sprint team finalizes the direction or concept to be prototyped. Each participant will share their Solution Sketch.
