Computers are essential tools for engineering education and work, as they can be used for modeling, design, and communicating engineering processes. Computers speed up information flow and make the engineering process more efficient from design through production and distribution. They can also perform complex calculations faster than humans and simulate situations to help engineers make decisions. The Bali Engineering Computer Course teaches software like SAP 2000, ETABS, CSI Safe, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, SketchUp, 3DS Max, Inventor, Revit, and Archicad.

Patrick Zandl: Energy industry post Edison, Křižík & IoTWebExpo
The document discusses challenges facing the energy industry and opportunities for increased efficiency through automation, decentralized production, and internet of things (IoT) technologies. Key points include:
1) The energy industry must find 30-50% efficiencies over 10 years through automation without changing user habits and more radical changes to production and distribution.
2) Opportunities exist in automating energy use for end users, managing production based on conditions, shortening transmission lines, and decreasing investment risks through decentralization.
3) IoT, big data analysis, smart metering, and demand prediction can help shift energy use, control distributed generation and storage, and improve the energy grid.
4) While IoT opens opportunities to disrupt

Two Keys to Analytic Success: Cooperation, CollaborationInside Analysis
The Briefing Room with Robin Bloor and ParAccel
Live Webcast on Feb. 19, 2013
Experienced analysts know there is no single platform that can handle all types of analytic processing efficiently. Invariably, data-driven organizations will use a variety of engines to refine their raw data into usable insights. There are several down sides to this heterogeneity, not the least of which is poor collaboration. But that's starting to change, as many companies focus on creative ways to foster analytical cooperation.
Check out the slides from this episode of The Briefing Room to hear veteran Analyst Dr. Robin Bloor explain why collaboration in the design and use of analytical applications can have wide-ranging impacts on an organization. He'll be briefed by John Santaferraro of ParAccel, who will tout his company's Cooperative Analytic Processing Architecture, designed to perform sophisticated deep analytics on large amounts of data quickly. CAPA can orchestrate the processing power of other engines in its ecosystem, including data warehouses and Hadoop implementations.

This document discusses entrepreneurship in France. It begins by outlining some myths around entrepreneurship in France, such as that it takes too long to incorporate a company or that social charges are too high. It then profiles different types of entrepreneurs and discusses what truly defines an entrepreneur. The document advocates for an ecosystem that supports entrepreneurs in creating valuable companies, rather than focusing solely on large exits. It introduces The Cantillon Institute for Entrepreneurs, which takes a hands-on approach to entrepreneurship focused on developing customers.
This document discusses opportunities to make money through online advertising and content. It provides examples of websites and blogs that have earned $100,000-200,000 per year through advertising revenue from local display ads, AdSense, and direct advertisers. The document advocates a collaborative model where content creators share advertising revenue. It argues that simplicity will be rewarded over complexity as online ecosystems change, and those who figure out working simply in the present will shape the future.
This document outlines a roadmap for the future of society and technology over the next 10-15 years. It describes how platforms have disrupted traditional industries by allowing companies to succeed without owning assets, using examples like Uber, Airbnb, Facebook, Alibaba, and Netflix. It then discusses emerging trends like the sharing economy, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, robotics, self-driving vehicles, and how they will continue to transform society and the economy. The document advocates for facilitating serendipitous encounters through shared work and living spaces to enrich people's ongoing education and spark new opportunities.
Exponential technologies are driving change and uncertainty, potentially marginalizing many workers. To adapt, organizations must create environments encouraging employees to develop their potential and provide more value. A new "chaordic" society is emerging characterized by collaborative platforms, an interdependent economy, and decentralization of autonomous tools that facilitate serendipitous encounters and matching via artificial intelligence.
Stavriana Kofteros standards Cyprus and Angels 03 2014Stavriana Kofteros
The document discusses reinventing Cyprus through startups and entrepreneurship. It notes that the traditional economy based around public sector jobs is dead, freeing up an entrepreneurial spirit. Several business incubators and initiatives have emerged to support startups and develop an entrepreneurial mindset. For Cyprus to succeed, it needs "angels" or angel investors to fund startups getting through the risky early stages. The Cyprus Business Angels Network has already invested over 2 million euros in three startups. To make a successful startup, the document emphasizes talking to customers to build solutions to real problems, failing fast to learn quickly, gaining traction with paying users, and being fully committed to executing the vision.
Bigpoint is a free-to-play game developer founded in 2002 with over 550 employees across multiple global offices. It has over 150 million registered users and 250,000 new registrations per day across 60 active games. While the games are free-to-play, Bigpoint generates revenue through optional premium services and virtual goods purchases. The presentation discusses how virtual goods have value in online communities and games despite having no intrinsic value, and how game mechanics, social context, and marketing work together to create value for both players and Bigpoint.
The document lists Guyhaim's top 10 inspirations from 2009 that made him realize the opportunities in marketing. They include:
1) Citizen's eco-friendly watch that charges from any light
2) Crowdsourcing London's rebranding process
3) An art project where workers drew 10,000 sheep for $0.02 each
4) A company launching a business in 24 hours through a live broadcast
5) A campaign using fun to change behaviors
6) A food truck that tweets its location
7) A website funding creative projects through rewards
8) A manifesto describing a passionate generation focused on change
9) A bank with radical transparency by publishing customer feedback

This document provides a summary of 10 key lessons learned from the 2013 Cannes Festival of Creativity. Some of the main lessons discussed include the importance of being brave with creative ideas, embracing a "maker's culture" where marketers create experiences and products, prioritizing people in the design of experiences, using creativity and storytelling to solve problems and make people's lives better, and recognizing the power of a clear, concise creative brief to spark great ideas. The festival highlighted how creativity, emotion and bravery continue to be more important than technology alone in effective marketing.

The document discusses the state of startups and venture capital investing. It argues that the current environment is not a bubble for three main reasons: 1) Venture capital investment levels and fundraising have increased but are not at unsustainable, parabolic levels seen in past bubbles; 2) Valuations of technology companies relative to their fundamentals are reasonable and much lower than levels seen in true bubbles; and 3) Unlike past bubbles, most observers are not arguing "it's different this time" to justify high valuations. While some high-profile startup acquisitions and IPOs have received criticism, the document argues these deals are rational given the massive opportunity in technology and mobile. However, it caut
