This document discusses the effects of hoarding on children. While many studies have examined the impacts of hoarding on adults, few have focused specifically on children living in hoarding households. Children in these environments face numerous health and safety risks, such as poor nutrition, injuries from slips and falls, and respiratory problems. As the prevalence of hoarding disorder is estimated between 2-5% of adults, more children are being affected by these conditions. The paper aims to further explore the risks to children's health and development posed by living in a hoarded home based on both research and personal accounts.
