SB Nation Reacts: 79 percent of Raiders fans believe Aidan O’Connell will be the starter

The Las Vegas Raiders are getting ready for the season, with OTAs and Mini-camp coming up in the next month. While there will be other camp battles at different positions, the main one fans will be watching is between Aidan O’Connell and Gardner Minshew.

Minshew signed a deal that made him one of the highest-paid backups in the NFL. Many feel it was starter money, but a $12 million season is a lot less than the deal Jared Goff signed with the Detroit Lions. Antonio Pierce said it is Aidan O’Connell’s job to lose, and he will get every chance to be the starter.

O’Connell has the upper hand in this battle and would have to not produce in the preseason. How much he plays during those three games will tell us who is winning the battle as well. We are only two months away from finding out how this situation all plays out.
