Carlo’s Personnel Choices. According to MARCA. we will make a halftime switch of GKs to allow Thibaut Courtois to start and then replace him with Kepa Arrizabalaga. This is incredibly silly if not outright stupid. First, this is pretty disrespectful to Cadiz. We are in Gameweek 34 (or 35, I’m not checking so whatever) and not a preseason match where replacing goalkeepers at the 45min is acceptable. Sure Cadiz are a side fighting relegation, but this is a team that thoroughly competes in the first division. Second, this imo is extremely disrespectful to Kepa. Whether you love Kepa or not (and I know most of you dislike him), Kepa was a reasonable replacement for significant portion of our season. In the 18 games he featured, Kepa maintained 8 clean sheets. This is the exact same clean sheet percentage as Andriy Lunin (12/27). Kepa featured in wins against Barca, Napoli, Girona, and allegedly coached Lunin in the penalty shoot-out against Man City. If this game is so meaningless that our GK who hasn’t featured all season and likely won’t (or at least shouldn’t) feature in an important game rest of the season can get game time, then reward the goalkeeper who has been there from the beginning. Reward the GK who turned down Bayern Munich to play for you. Reward the GK who has stood still despite losing his job due to injury and has been steadfast in every practice. Reward him.

I don’t have the time to even spell how this imo wasted sub is also disrespectful to every other bench player vying for minutes so I’m just going to move along to a lukewarm take. Courtois shouldn’t play this season. He absolutely shouldn’t play in the CL unless Lunin is incredibly injured or stupidly suspended. He shouldn’t feature in a La Liga which is practically over. He should attend practice but imo that’s it. Ofc let me know if I’m wrong, but what is he preparing for? The Euros? In April 2024, the Belgian coach ruled Thibaut out and earnestly, I don’t think we should be prepping him for a NT tournament. If this is a contractual issue to make sure he hits a bonus for title wins, Flo be kind and just pay him.

Anyway, I’m only detailing this because something in my spirit knows that next season Rudiger is going to be back to the bench similar to how Nacho was benched for Alaba etc when he was outperforming them. Or Tibo is going to be asked to start the potential CL final. Idk it’s not that deep, I just show loyalty to those who got me where I am.

Jude. I’ll admit yesterday’s convo about Vinicius v. Mbappe did make me slightly shed a tear. I appreciate MM’s defense of their own even if I vehemently disagree. So today, I’m not going to go bring up every Mbappe passing video or what he has in his arsenal as a creator since the world has conveniently forgotten why almost every coach / player / former player calls him incredible. I’m just going to say he bought a house in Madrid. Today, I’m going to address disrespect to Judinho Bellingham. Let’s not forget why we’re here competing for a La Liga title and potential CL title. Let’s not forget about the game winning goals against Athletic Bilbao (where Vini didn’t score), Almeria (where he scored two), Celta (where Vini didn’t score), Getafe (where Vini didn’t play), Barcelona x2, and game-tying against Betis. Let’s not forget the dislocated shoulder, the swelling ankle, playing through sickness, being not only an offensive threat but creator and defensive stewardship. Let’s not forget the awards or the 31 goal contributions.

Musiala. I got time today so let’s also talk about Musiala. TR educate me cause I don’t get it. Musiala puts up Odegaard stats. He reminds me of a diet Isco (who was good) but isn’t on this tier of Mbappe. Since none of you rate Leroy Sane. I’m just going to use him as the example lol:
