SB Reacts: Dallas Mavericks fans are still very confident

How fans feel about the series, the seventh man, and Thunder role players

Before Game 4 started, I posted a three-question poll that took the temperature of Dallas fans on the state of the series between the Mavericks and the Oklahoma City Thunder. The poll was open for over 24 hours, so we had people vote both before and after Dallas losing game 4.

The first question asked how fans thought the series would progress:

That people voted before and after is pretty interesting to me that so many people picked Mavericks in six. I don’t remember if there was a Mavs in 5 option, so maybe that’s on me for not including it in the poll. Maybe it’s my fault why they lost Game 4! Most fans still have faith Dallas is going to win this one, which is good, with fewer than 1 in 5 respondents thinking Dallas falls to the Thunder.

The next question asked which Dallas player you want off the bench second (after Dereck Lively):

Josh Green wins this one in dominating fashion. Considering the fanbase is rather tired of Tim Hardaway, this isn’t shocking. Same with how poor Dante Exum’s played, even if he had a bounce back few minutes in Game 4.

The final question investigated which Thunder player Dallas fans were most concerned about.

This one’s a little surprising to me. Jalen is obviously incredible, but he doubled up Chet Holmgren who the player I would have picked. When Chet’s been useful on offense, even just slightly useful, then the Thunder have won. But I understand the poll, Jalen Williams is an awesome player.

That’s all we’ve got this time. Everyone enjoy Game 5, we’ll have another poll next week. Hopefully by then we’ll have moved on to the Western Conference Finals!
