The Dallas Mavericks lost a late lead to the Oklahoma City Thunder and fell 100-96. The series is now tied at 2-2 and heads back to Oklahoma for Game 5. Following the game, Josh Bowe and I talk about what went wrong.

Dallas missed 11 free throws in a game they lost by four points. That, more than any other statistic, is why they lost the game. Past that, though, Dallas fell because Luka Doncic had yet another horrible offensive performance. I talk about why I think that is and beg Luka to just play basketball and force the defense to bend to him. He played very good to even great defense, so for Dallas to lose because he was bad at offense is crazy to me.

After being frustrated with Luka, we pivot to the very bad game from Kyrie Irving. Kyrie’s been very odd in this series and when it was time for him to step up in Game 4, he was no where to be found. The Mavericks need more from their stars.

Past that, Josh and I work through some of the weirder parts of the game and the minutes distribution. SGA was amazing and we talked about why Dallas should continue guarding him how they have been and hope he misses rather than give up good three-point looks.
