Frustrated

The Stealth irons are amazing! The feel, the forgiveness, the way the ball jumps off the face of the iron. Having said that, I am extremely frustrated that one week after receiving my first set of Stealth irons (June, 2022) one of the heads flew off during my swing. Less than three weeks another head flew off. I placed a call to customer service and was told that I should bring them to my local pro shop to have the rest of the checked and fixed if needed or I can place a warranty claim and send them back to be examined. I asked how long that would take and was told 4-6 weeks. I then asked what I was supposed to do in the meantime to which I was told I would have to get another set of clubs, either way I had to spend more money because the clubs I purchased were wouldn't stay together. I chose to keep the clubs and see how it went. I ended up paying to have 7 of the 8 club heads glued back on. In February of 2023 I bought a second set of Stealth irons. I had a little better luck with these. The first head didn't fly off until August and then another one shortly after that. Again I called customer service. I was told again to fill out a warranty claim. This time I decided to do that. When I got to the end of the claim form I was asked to attach 4 pictures of the damaged club. At this point I had to stop because I didn't have any pictures. The next day I tried to attach the pictures but could not because the file was too big to send to Taylormade so I converted the pictures to PDF but Taylormade doesn't accept pdf's. I called customer service once again and apparently they are aware of this and the lady was sorry but I would need to go online and download an app so I could send the pictures. This was the last straw. I had been playing Taylormade for years but on that day I ordered a brand new set of Callaway irons. I believe Taylormade set up their warranty claim so that people like me would get frustrated and forget about it, well it worked.
Impressive!

I decided to try these after seeing that they got the #1 game improvement iron two years in a row by My Golf Spy tests in 2022 and 2023. I demoed the 7 iron earlier this week at my local golf shop. Crazy long! Good shots were rolling out to 200 yards! I’m 50 years old with a moderate swing speed (~95 w/driver), so I was pleasantly surprised! What really sold me was the forgiveness on thin shots (my main miss). I ended up picking up a set today (6 iron - SW) from the golf superstore here in Huntsville, AL and got a chance to take them to the range. I got the lofts weakened by 2 degrees (except for AW weakened 1 degree and left SW stock) to have more height and better distance gaps for my bag. I didn’t want my 7 iron to be as long as my 5 hybrid! Wedges feel solid and had good trajectory. I’m interested to see carry vs total yards with a good urethane ball on the course vs a range rock. Anyway, I’m super excited to try them on the course this weekend! I already love my Stealth 2 driver and 3W, which I’ve had for a couple months. Great job Taylormade!
5i head came off

Bought these the beginning of the year I truly do love them coming from some rbz it’s my first true new set since playing for 12yrs and all I ever played is Taylormade but have had a problem with the 5i since getting them. It didn’t feel right when contact was made with the ball. Felt like it was hollow and the club head would turn. About 2 months into use the 5i head came off I’ve got it reset but it’s taken the confidence outta the irons. I think it might be happening to the 7i so I’m constantly going over my irons to make sure none are coming loose which I haven’t had to do with Taylormade before but I’m probably just worried and they’re really is nothing wrong but now it could effect my score at the end of the day with lack of confidence over the ball. I knew it was a problem with callaway so I hope this was a flux and I was just an unlucky one. But over all I do love Taylormade and probably won’t play anything else.
WOW!

I went down today to Edwin Watts to get a consultation/fitting as I have been getting shots that vary from draw to fade with my driver and irons (Callaway Big Bertha Fusion 5-PW) and my hybrids/3W. Turns out that the hook/pull-hook I am hitting with the hybrids/3W is probably related to my swing being too upright, not enough bend at the waist and is probably a subconscious thing to try and protect my lower back.

The meat of the story is Brian handed me a Taylormade Stealth 7 iron, stiff flex, standard length/lie/grip and taped it up so I could hit it to compare to my Callaway Fusion. The Callaways were custom fit a LONG time ago to, I think, about 1 to 1.5 inches longer (I am 6'5") and a degree more upright for the lie.

My best shot with the Callaway 7I was 135 yards and that was about what I saw on the range/course.

My shots with the Taylormade were carrying further than the Callaway's TOTAL distance and my longest was 174 yards!

That was a couple of hours ago and I just got off the phone with Brian, and ordered the Stealth set 5-PW,AW. I was completely shocked to hit shots that were averaging 25 to 30 yds further with the longest being almost 40yd further... with a 7 iron! And the shots felt so "sweet", the contact between the ball and the face... like a hot knife through melted butter.

I have always like Taylormade drivers, woods and hybrids and you can now add irons to that list! That is just crazy what I saw and I am completely sold.
