Buffalo Rumblinks, 5/10: Longtime play-by-play voice John Murphy stepping down

Plus, the Bills opened up their rookie minicamp today.

On January 1, 2023, longtime Buffalo Bills radio play-by-play voice John Murphy suffered a stroke that sidelined him for the remainder of the season and forced him to miss all of the 2023 NFL season.

Unfortunately, Murphy’s voice hasn’t returned to where he feels he can broadcast Bills games on the radio anymore, and today’s edition of the Buffalo Rumblinks leads off by remembering Murphy’s tenure on the mic as one of the best voices in Buffalo sportscasting history.

Play-by-play announcer John Murphy retiring

John Murphy, who has served as the Bills’ play-by-play voice for the last 19 seasons and has worked on Buffalo radio broadcasts for 35 years, is retiring as the radio voice of the Bills as he continues to recover from the effects of a stroke he suffered in 2023.

Undrafted rookie free agent class signed before rookie minicamp

The Buffalo Bills begin their rookie minicamp today, and leading up to rookie minicamp, the Bills officially added 12 undrafted rookie free agents to their roster, signing six offensive players, five defensive players and one special teamer.
