  1. Farewell

Five goals, one sending off...it's fair to say the 2016 Super Cup was a pulsating contest. Real Madrid have a spring in their step as they prepare to start the La Liga campaign away to Real Sociedad on 21 August.

And in the one EFL Cup tie that did go to penalties, League Two Accrington Stanley beat League One Bradford City 11-10 on penalties after the tie ended goalless after 120 minutes.

Many thanks for your company. Until next time...

  2. Post update

    Real Madrid 3-2 Sevilla (aet)

So, Zinedine Zidane secures his second piece of silverware since taking over as Real Madrid boss in January.

But will he earn his club their first La Liga title since 2012? You wouldn't bet against it at this stage.

  3. Post update

    Real Madrid 3-2 Sevilla (aet)

There were nine goals in last year's Super Cup. The 2016 edition was just as entertaining. Sevilla were leading 2-1 towards the end of normal time when Sergio Ramos equalised. Timothee Kolodziejczak's red card turned the tie in Real's favour.

  4. EFL Cup latest

And in the EFL Cup, loads of late drama.

Cambridge United scored late to defeat Sheffield Wednesday 2-1, Oxford also struck late, winning 1-0 at Birmingham.

But AccringtonBradford has gone to penalties. The only one of the 30 ties.

  5. Post update

    Real Madrid 3-2 Sevilla (aet)

Sevilla's Super Cup curse strikes again.

Three successive finals. Three successive defeats.

  6. FULL-TIME - Real Madrid 3-2 Sevilla

Real Madrid win the 2016 Super Cup.

  7. GOAL - Real Madrid 3-2 Sevilla

    Dani Carvajal

Utter joy for Real Madrid. Crushing heartbreak for Sevilla.

Defender Dani Carvajal surely settles it for Real with a wonder goal after a powerful run which ends with him rifling home.

There's only a few moments remaining.

  8. Post update

    Real Madrid 2-2 Sevilla

Three minutes remaining before the 2016 Super Cup is decided by penalties.

  9. CLOSE!

    Real Madrid 2-2 Sevilla

If Sevilla win this then a huge amount of credit must go to keeper Sergio Rico. He produces yet another fine stop to keep out James Rodriguez's volley.

  10. EFL Cup latest

Hmm, Blackpool now leading 3-2 against Lancashire rival's Bolton, while Morecambe are now winning 4-3 at Rotherham. Thriller.

Plenty of goals for you to feast upon tonight.

  11. CLOSE!

    Real Madrid 2-2 Sevilla

Another chance for Real. Lucas Vazquez IS clean through but his shot's half-blocked by the keeper and then cleared off the line. Real really must start taking their chances. Sevilla are playing for penalties.

  12. Post update

    Real Madrid 2-2 Sevilla

Sevilla have every player inside their own half. Real have all the possession. Karim Benzema does well to tee-up a chance for James Rodriguez but his close range effort is saved.

  13. EFL Cup latest

Seven ties heading to penalties as it stands.

Three Championship sides dumped out so far.

  14. KICK-OFF

    Real Madrid 2-2 Sevilla

Back under way. The television cameras zoom in on a young Sevilla fan who appears to have fallen asleep. To be fair, it's way past his bed time.

  15. HALF-TIME - Real Madrid 2-2 Sevilla

Sevilla have somehow survived the first period of extra-time. We're 15 minutes away from penalties.

  16. Post update

    Real Madrid 2-2 Sevilla

For the first time it is one-way traffic. Sevilla are in survival mode as Real produce wave after wave of attacks. We're two minutes from the end of first half of extra-time.

  17. EFL Cup latest

Of the 11 ties that went to extra-time in the EFL Cup only one scoreline has changed - with Scunthorpe now leading Notts County 1-0.

Ah, Crewe have now just gone 2-1 up at Sheffield United

  18. DISALLOWED GOAL

    Real Madrid 2-2 Sevilla

Sergio Ramos has the ball in the back of the Sevilla net. He spins around to celebrate with his jubilant team-mates but the celebrations are cut short as his acrobatic header is ruled out but it is not clear what for. He is certainly not offside.

  19. Post update

    Real Madrid 2-2 Sevilla

Real Madrid are surely favourites to win this now. Sevilla have gone from 2-1 ahead with two minutes remaining to having victory snatched from them and are now down to 10 men.

  20. RED CARD - Timothee Kolodziejczak (Sevilla)

It's all going wrong for Sevilla. They will have to play the last 25 minutes down to 10 men after Timothee Kolodziejczak is sent off for a second yellow card following a foul on Lucas Vazquez.
