Randy Orton, Bianca Belair advance in King & Queen of the Ring tournaments

We’ve made it to the semifinals on the SmackDown side of the brackets.

@WWE

The King & Queen of the Ring tournaments continued on this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, with four matches that brought us to the semifinals and just four wrestlers remaining in each bracket.

The Queen’s side:

Tiffany Stratton have angered quite a few fans (but not management, apparently) with a tasteless, poorly thought out social media post in the days leading up to her match against Bianca Belair. Well, she was pinned and eliminated here. We’ll see if anything changes for her push moving forward.

Later, WWE avoided booking the tag team champions against each other, as Jade Cargill used a chair in her match with Nia Jax and got herself disqualified.

The King’s side:

The Bloodline would not be denied, as distractions from Tonga Loa and Solo Sikoa helped Tama Tonga defeat LA Knight to move forward. There wasn’t much to say about the match itself beyond Tonga looking like a real threat here.

Later, Carmelo Hayes tried to score a major upset but the veteran Randy Orton was just too much for him, pinning him clean after an RKO OUTTA NOWHERE. Hayes was defiant in the match, and looked better for it, but Orton was always winning here.

This sets up Belair vs. Jax and Tonga vs. Orton next week to determine who advances to the Final at the big PLE of the same name in Jeddah.
