Source editing no longer works properly

1
Kghbln (talkcontribs)

I am sometimes no longer able to select a specific line properly and have to use the up or down key to get to the correct spot with the cursor. This started with the new line numbering feature in the Extension namespace. Did not really find a spot where to disable the line numbering in my preferences. Probably I am not the first one to report this. Note that I am using the Monobook skin and that it does not happen consistently. Anyhow it is no longer fun to edit.

Ammarpad (talkcontribs)

Dear all,

The Wikimedia Hackathon is coming up in May this year and there were calls for organizing local in-person events in parallel. I have applied for grant to hold local event in Nigeria.

More details about how to participate would be shared as the date nears. Before then, I can be reached via the 'email user' feature in the sidebar of this wiki in case of any inquiry.

Thanks.

In Help:Extension:Translate, there are following codes:

<translate>
=== Reference documents for developers === <!--T:35-->
</translate>
* {{ll|Help:Extension:Translate/Installation|2=<translate><!--T:40--> Installation</translate>}} <translate><!--T:75--> and</translate> {{ll|Help:Extension:Translate/Configuration|2=<translate><!--T:60--> Configuration</translate>}}; <translate><!--T:73--> [[MediaWiki Language Extension Bundle]] should be enough in most cases.</translate>

However, this adds extra unneeded whitespaces between "Installation", "and" and "Configuration", which should have NO whitespaces between them in zh-* (Mandarin Chinese variants) language(s).

Please help fixing above grammar issue in the page.

how can i publish my page on the real wiki

Ciencia Al Poder (talkcontribs)

Go to the real wiki where you want to publish your page. If you can't publish it there, because of local policies or lack of permissions, ask for help there, but don't try to publish that on a totally unrelated wiki.

I would recommend asking on that gerrit commit, so the author and the people watching the commit would receive a email, As they may not watch the village pump.

Hello everyone,

A vote in SecurePoll from 7 to 21 March 2022 is scheduled as part of the ratification process for the Universal Code of Conduct (UCoC) Enforcement guidelines. Eligible voters are invited to answer a poll question and share comments. Read voter information and eligibility details. During the poll, voters will be asked if they support the enforcement of the Universal Code of Conduct based on the proposed guidelines.

The Universal Code of Conduct (UCoC) provides a baseline of acceptable behavior for the entire movement. The revised enforcement guidelines were published 24 January 2022 as a proposed way to apply the policy across the movement. A Wikimedia Foundation Board statement calls for a ratification process where eligible voters will have an opportunity to support or oppose the adoption of the UCoC Enforcement guidelines in a vote. Wikimedians are invited to translate and share important information. For more information about the UCoC, please see the project page and frequently asked questions on Meta-wiki.

There are events scheduled to learn more and discuss:

  • A community panel recorded on 18 February 2022 shares perspectives from small- and medium-sized community participants.
  • The Movement Strategy and Governance (MSG) team is hosting Conversation Hours on 4 March 2022 at 15:00 UTC. Please sign-up to interact with the project team and the drafting committee about the updated enforcement guidelines and the ratification process. See the Conversation Hour summaries for notes from 4 February 2022 and 25 February 2022.

You can comment on Meta-wiki talk pages in any language. You may also contact either team by email: msgwikimedia.org or ucocprojectwikimedia.org

Sincerely,

Movement Strategy and Governance
