The '''SBC Building Addition''' stands at 444 Michigan_Avenue in downtown Detroit,_Michigan, and occupies the building block bordered by 1st Street, Cass Avenue, State Street, and Michigan Avenue. it was constructed in 1973 and finished the following year. The High-rise Office_building stands at 17 storeys, and is used primarily as Office_space, Telecommunications, as a Hotel, and is owned by Communications giant SBC. The buidling was designed using the modern architectural style, and incorporates a great deal of Granite into its materials. It is a part of the SBC_Michigan_Headquarters. it was designed by the architecture firm Smith,_Hinchman_&_Grylls, who also designed several other Detroit,_Michigan office buildings.
