    You say "grift" yet many people earnestly believe they are being forced to the right because of left excesses. You can disagree w their analysis. That doesn't mean they are lying. Don't fall prey to an inability to comprehend that others reach different conclusions than one's own

    Cannot believe we are on round two of “the last true liberals being forced to the right because the dang left is nuts, ya know” grift and people still haven’t learned to recognize it for what it is

    Wow. People are actually still saying "intent does not matter." Of course it does. If it intent doesn't matter, nothing matters. We might as well be nihilists and give up. Without intent, there is no morality or conscience, only outward and arbitrary rules.

    We know our authors never intended to be hurtful. But that’s a big piece of the teachable moment on microaggressions—intent does not matter nor should it be a part of the response. All it should say: 1. I was wrong. 2. I am sorry. 3. I will do better. 4. Here is how.

    The idea that a journalist invites physical assault by failing to identify himself or herself is dangerous nonsense.

    Press should be clearly marked as such, and should not be disguised in all black, doing god-knows-what kind of dishonest stuff. Once you insert yourself and become part of the story, you’re not a journalist. You’re an agent provocateur. I hope you’ve learned a valuable lesson.

    At first I was confused at how agender and nonbinary were different but then I realized that without it, there would just be binary and nonbinary, which would technically make nonbinary a binary, albeit different from male and female. Agender makes nonbinary nonbinary.

    In college I engaged in some back and forth satirical feuding with some of my classmates. It never even occured to anyone to tattle to the administrators, but that seems to be the way of the world now: infinite "official investigations" of mere ephemera

    Agree this looks at first glance to be way better than Tasers for the person being subdued

    To be honest this seems a lot better than tasers, not to mention guns. Most of the objections seem to be aesthetic, are based on an ideal alternative no one can describe.

    If you haven't gotten vaccinated it's time.

    It's still early in the rise of B.1.617.2 in the US, before it goes exponential as we saw w/ B.1.1.7. Our best defense is to get vaccination % (+ 2nd dose) as high as possible; all indications from UK/India is that it's a formidable variant to reckon with
