Responding to Emergencies

Responding to Emergencies

Irish Aid focuses on trade and economic growth at national and international level to promote growth that leads to a sustained reduction in poverty.

Responding to emergencies

Every year, hundreds of millions of people are affected by disasters and emergencies. It is the women and men, girls and boys living in the world’s poorest countries who are worst affected and least able to recover. In response, we act quickly to save lives, alleviate suffering and help people maintain their human dignity during and in the aftermath of humanitarian crises. Importantly we also support efforts to plan ahead, predict and intervene before a situation deteriorates to crisis point.
