Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was confident that it would be a cake-walk victory for the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in more than 70 Assembly constituencies in the 2019 elections, but wanted the party cadre to make efforts to enable the party win at least 100 Assembly seats.

The Chief Minister wanted the party students’ wing – TRS Vidyarthi (TRSV) – to play a key role in taking the government schemes closer to the people and ensure benefits to eligible persons from the government schemes.

Addressing a meeting of TRSV State and district committees at Telangana Bhavan here on Tuesday, Chandrashekhar Rao termed the youth as leaders of tomorrow and future hope of Telangana State. He assured that TRSV leaders working for strengthening the party would be given due recognition in the party and the government. “We will give key posts to youth leaders in the party as well as the government. If delimitation is implemented resulting in increase of Assembly constituencies in the State, we will also field 3-5 student leaders in the 2019 elections,” he assured. He also assured one MLC seat for the student wing.

The Chief Minister wanted the student wing leaders to give a fitting reply to the Opposition parties who were trying to misguide people of the State by spreading false propaganda. “You should visit projects like Kaleshwaram and Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Projects to enhance your knowledge about various development programmes and create awareness among people,” he said. He shared his experiences as a young leader and emphasised the need to work hard to reach higher positions.

The TRS chief wanted the party student activists to work like soldiers and strengthen the party further in the State. He entrusted MP Balka Suman and MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy with the responsibility of organising training programmes and workshops for the student leaders. After completion of training workshop for TRSV cadre next week, the student leaders are planning a grand public meeting in Hyderabad shortly.
